2004 pontiac grand am (black) ...mini-post

mini-post here...i didn't take many pics and i'm feeling lazy.

process was mixed...tried a few different products during the polishing steps.

ONR wash w/ ONR QD wipedown

4* body shop LCC (first time trying it out...only used HCC and SMR before)

ended up doing OHC w/ orange LC, finishing up with OP and white LC

collinite 845 x2 (12 hours between coats) ...topped with OCW

aquawax on the (plastic) "rims"

rainx on windows

E1 tire shine on wheels

303 on exterior trim

exterior detail only...and sorry for the washed out pics in the sun...

before of hood, quarter panel, passenger door (same all around the vehicle):

in-process after one pass w/ LCC and orange LC:

i switched over the OHC after this to take advantage of the longer working time and a tad more bite (the HCC would've worked well too) since there were some stubborn scratches not coming out.

skip to the final shots (again, sorry for the poor pic quality):

What the *@&#? is the first thing that would come to mind. But man i give you props that was one hell of transformation.

Which leaves me very curious because i have 03 honda civic coming my way that looks just as bad. Problem is i dont have that much products in my possesion. The only swirl remover i have is z-pc and i dont think that would be strong enough to take out those scratches (i dont know i never used it before) and everthing else i have is a cleaner wax: zymol, meguairs, and some samples of wolf gang. I like what i have seen with the optimum line so i decide to lean towards that direction

SOOOO

My question to you is do you think that OHC would have done just as a good of a job by itself or other wise?

And please say that you used a pc, cause if not im going to have to find somebody on this website that lives in west palm beach with a rotary to attack this thing with me.

PS: sorry for the long post but i need the info

yes...i only started w/ the LCC to try it out...OHC was the primary product i used. you could use OHC with an orange pad...then down to a white to finish. it might not be AS good of a finish as with OP in the final step, but many people have great luck with Optimum products finishing down to LSP ready after only one step.

yup, i used a PC. you may be surprised with how the honda civic you mentioned cleans up...honda paint is typically easy to correct (soft).

Would i be able to use z-pc (i heard that the zaino system is very picky cant mix and match, i dont havent used any of them yet) in replacement of OP, or should i just get both OHC and OP and call it a day.

Thanks for your time man i appreciate you answering my ?'s
