So a couple of my club members are getting married tomorrow. I told them that as a wedding present I'd detail their car for them. The car was in pretty good shape other than just about every panel that could have swirl marks had swirl marks.

Process

Wash

Clay

Vacuum

Wipe down interior with Z10 and Mother's back to black

Sprayed wheels, tires, and wheel wells with PB's APC

PB's SSR2.5 w/orange pad @ speed 5

PB's SSR1 w/white pad @ speed 5

PB's EX w/Blue pad @ speed 3. Removed w/MF

Tires dressed w/Z16

Then I ran out of daylight. Monday I'll get a coat of Natty's Blue done.

On with the pics

Great color! That is a great idea for a present too!

Hush! My brother just got married and he had a Dodge Ram and his new wife has a Jeep Commander. I don't want him to get any ideas. :nervous2:

Nice job on the Goat, looks very good in the afters. :up

LOL. I'm waiting for his bride to ask me do to her Cavalier.

His parents were really impressed and they have a new Saturn Sky Redline. Yes, there are a few dealer installed swirl marks, but nothing like what's been posted on the site recently. I'm pretty sure that will be the next one on the list to get done.

Maybe I'll start a collection to get him a UDM for Christmas.

I can't wait to see some full daylight shots. Hopefully no one decorates the car. People have been warned that they will incur my wraith. Not to mention he doesn't want anyone messing with the car.

it looks good

but I think the wheelwells could use some love

They got some. I'm going to have to try something a bit different though. Using a sponge applicator just isn't cutting it. I truly hate the spray on tire dressings because they get all over the paint.

I love the armor all tire foam. That works great for fenderwells. If youre having trouble with over spray, use flexible cardboard and just hold it to the shape of the fender lip. I never get any overspray this way.

Solid color, solid job!

Thanks for the advice. I'll give this a try on my next job.

I wash cars with ONR and do the wheels and fenderwells first (yes, I use a fresh bucket of ONR and water for the paint!) so any overspray from dressing the fenderwells is washed off when I wash the car.

I'm going to have to get some ONR and try it out. Especially with winter coming. I'd love to be able to wash the GTO this winter. Nothing like a black car that looks white from all of the road dust.
