2003 Single Turbo Black Cobra Detail!!!

SICK Cobra and excellent detail!! :up

As others have said I most definitely would have done one more polish step with a white pad and OP.

Good correction work on an impressive looking car there mate.

Personally, I too would have stepped to using OP on a polishing pad to see if that cleared up the marring or stepped to a lighter abrasive than OP - something like #80 as Scottwax suggests or something like Menzerna Final Finish.

Personally, I dont really use the PC anymore for any defect correction, all the work I do is by rotary as I personally feel I get better, more crytsal clear results from the rotary, especially on solid dark colours... Just my personal feeling though. If you feel like trading up to the rotart, get yourself some scrap panels to practice with to hone your finishing techniques, as once you have mastered finishing with the rotary, the PC will stay in its box. :)

I've got a few friends with cars that they don't really care about, so I'll be doing some testing on those IF I end up getting a rotary, which I really want....

Well I'll definately try that next time, what would you recommend as a final finishing after the OP, Menzerna Final Finish like Dave KG mentioned, or some #80 as Scott mentioned? I've really enjoyed working with the Optimum line so far it just seemed that this ONE car gave me problems, If you look back at my other Black Cobra that I detailed, http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/75983-2004-black-cobra-detail-pics.html, I didn't get it 100% defect free but I do NOT remember any micromarring :hm :nixweiss

But anyways, thanks for all of the compliments guys!

i would go with menzerna FPII, or the blackfire equivalent from what I hear (havent used), or maybe even just used poliseal after for less cut than OP

THat is one sick ride.... Looks like Sam at Caostal did the work and the tune. He is the only one around here that will be touching my truck.

As far as the detail....beautiful job my man.......that is A LOT of work with the PC for sure. I hope to be as good as you one of these days.:bow
