2003 Porsche X50 Turbo Correction

I'm getting a new titanium silver BMW M3 in a couple of days and wanted some advice on detailing. Since it is brand new, which detailing steps are most important, do I have to glaze, then polish, then protect, then wax or whatever or are there 2 or 3 main steps that I should do. What is most important to make it shiny and easy to clean later, and what order do I do them?

Thanks!

Tell your dealer immediately, if you haven't already not to TOUCH or wash your car and tell them you are serious and you want it just the way it comes. There are so many horror stories from dealers washing cars and putting in more swirls in one afternoon than Autopians put in them in a year.

Call them now!!!

Steps

1. Wash
2. Klasse AIO (1X)
3. Klasse SG (4X)
4. One Grand Blitz Wax (Concours application)

This car is a garage queen so I do this once a year. Takes about 5 hours, I don't see the car much so I can't wait for the Klasse to cure like many do, but hey it is darn shiny and gets tons of compliments.

Welcome to the forum,

Welcome to the forums

I would start by reading the Autopia site which you can find by clicking the big red autpoia words above. Then search this forum and then read away.

Lots of great advice here that you may find interesting and related to your case from people who do not post so often.

Good Luck and happy motoring.

As others have mentioned before I, don't let the dealership wash or detail the car. Have this put in writing and send it to the manager of the dealership. Let them know that you will not accept the car if it has been washed or detailed. You will get some funny looks but that's preferable to a crappy wash and glaze that will cover up many swirls underneath. A carwash or two later and you will see how they may have very well scratched or swirled your beauty up. Jason's plan is a sound one. It is better to wait 24 hours between coats of Klasse SG though. But I have also layered on some coats in one day and I absolutely love the results. Laters

Make sure you wash it correctly, with the right tools, and the right method. A lot of people spend a lot of time at this forum getting rid of swirl marks, the key is prevention.

...oh yeah, and use some good products to make it shine like no other :) congrats and happy detailing :up

Just completed recently, this car was in need of serious correction but the car was all there with a nice interior.

Great work Bob. I would expect nothing less from you.

I too agree, the steamer really does come in handy. One of these days, I would love to get on for myself.

Fine work friendo, never get to see heavy correction on any light colored cars too often!

Could this be a first P-car with no sharkwerks goodies?

great work on that underbody bob... i used my steamer for the first time on my interior and was amazed on how well and how fast it worked. i have a vx3000 which is plenty for me...
