2001 morgan plus 8 (dark green)

here is a dark green 2001 morgan plus 8 i worked on this weekend. the paint was extremely difficult to work with. i originally thought it would be easier since it's single stage paint, but it ended up being difficult to correct the bad scratches. i had to use HTEC w/ 4" orange pads. the entire car is one big challenge (hard to reach areas, lots of vents on the side and hood, etc).

finishing was even worse...4" white and black pads. it would not finish clear no matter what i did or what i used on it. overall, this one ended up with about a 90% correction.

cleaning: ONR, DG FC&S

polishing: PC w/ 4" pads (orange, white, black), HTEC, FPII

chrome/exhaust: english custom polishes

protection/LSPs: Megs #7, Collinite 845, 303, RainX

wheels: ONR, toothbrush (ugh), AW, E1 Tire Shine

wheel before/after...yeah...those spokes were lots of fun...

Nice work, don't think I've seen one of those on Autopia before.

Awesome gig you got there, detailing all those classic cars.

Car looks great, nice work :)

thanks for the compliments!

i searched and searched for a wheel brush to help with this prior to moving forward on it...but never did find one small enough. many of the cars in this collection have similar wheels, so it would be nice to find a better tool than my finger and a MF towel or a toothbrush. :)

it definitely has the most curves, edges, tight spaces, etc that i've dealt with yet. i'm starting to look forward to regular, modern day vehicle designs again! :)

Hey Paradigm,

Dollars to donuts says I work for the Morgan owner's company. He drives this ride to work quite frequently in the summer, and how many Morgans are there in the Madison area. :goodjob

Cheers,

HeavyB

That's an interesting vehicle! Whoever thought of using leather straps to hold down the hood wasn't smart :grinno: What if the straps broke? Plus they instill scratches.
