20 year old paint

i have a customer interested in a detail. 1970 chevelle with 20 year old paint. customer says it has clear.



do i need to worry about anything ?? i will not have a chance to see the car before the detail. i will be using IP and FP topped of pinnacle.



PC with some cma pads.



any hints guys ??
 
Good way to know for sure is to rub Ip by hand on the paint.

If you get color, you know it's single stage. If not, then it's

clear coated.



The only thing I would be worried about is if the paint

has Laquer-chec. If it does, then there's not much that

you can really do with it. You could still polish the paint,

but the cracks tend to be so deep that only a repaint

or wet sanding will correct the defects. If you do

encounter Laquer-check, you need to let the client know

that you'll do what you can, and charge accordingly.
