1st time PC user, couple of questions

I was gonna use the Klasse twins today, but after I AIO'd it began raining and I understand that SG doesn't like humidity too much. I ended up using the CG Butter Wet Wax I got from Paultso (thanks Paul) which went applies very easily, I guess I'll see about the durability.

On to my questions:

- In the past I always used too much wax, but now I think I might have used too little. I got the 4oz bottle from Paul and used probably 3 - 3.5 oz on my Mazda 6, does this sound about right? The application seemed so thin compared to what I've done historically and I just want to make sure I get sufficient protection.

- I applied the wax with a white polishing pad on the 7424, and buffed off with a MF bonnet over another pad. The pad was very crushed under the bonnet making an uneven surface. Is this how you PC users normally remove the wax, or should I just use a another pad (if so, what color pad)?

Despite the humidity I AIO'd and SG'd the rims, seemed to work pretty well.

Before I get the "this thread is useless without pics", it's still raining outside and I didn't want to put the car out there yet.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Edited to add images, although no responses yet..

I used Sonus SFX-3 Final Finish & Wax Pad (blue) with PC to applt 845 wax. Bonett went over sonus green. I never used PC before and I was supprised how easy and how even wax application was. As far as I was told I used too much wax - lass than 3oz.

:woohoo:

I usually apply and remove final products by hand. When I use the PC, I find that too much product gets absorbed into the pad.

I can do a Miata with less than an ounce of SG, or about an ounce of NXT or any other liquid wax. Figure 2 ounces for a 6. There's no knowing how much got sucked into your 6" diameter x 1" deep pad, though.

Realize that all the product that you can see is wiped away as waste, and the layer that is left is so thin you can't see it. So a proper layer should look like a haze. That minimizes waste and makes the job easier. I posted a picture somewhere once of what a proper layer looks like, let me find it.... OK, this was done with liquid Gold Class and the PC on 2, with a finishing pad:

The "swipe test": see where I wiped it with a couple fingers right between the lights?

When I use the bonnet to remove wax, I use the white fixed pad that came with the PC. Generally speaking though, I don't use it to remove wax, it's too much of a PITA. If you use a regular pad, use a firmer one to lessen the phenomenon you described, and pull the pad around to even it out as best you can.
