Kind of a funny title for the thread!!:up

Anyways I am doing my first Hummer tomorrow, it hard for me to believe to but there aren't alot of them where I live.

Any good tips?

Start early and use those step ladder on that beast.

I think to me, all SUT/V is all work. ...dont like it.

Good luck.

I do 2 pretty regularly. There isn't any major trick that I have figured out yet. The hardest part for me is getting the things dry. There's a good amount of plastic cladding and a good amount of glass.

Wash and dry takes me 2 hours by myself.

Good luck!

It is a black hummer, I am getting $200 for it, is this a fair price? I will use the ole leaf blower and hope for the best. Is it easy to get a PC or rotary on them?

That's going to be the hardest $200 you ever earned . Ask yourself if $200 is fair when your finished. I don't like to make suggestions on prices . Eat your Wheaties before you start . :D

BTW is this an interior and exterior job ?

:buffing:

No real tips other than starting early. The panels are pretty much flat and there are nimimal nooks and crannies on the interior that you have to go OCD on. I have done a few since last summer and they are quicker for me do than Expeditions/Navigators/Escalades are. As for the price two bills sound just about right.

I do a white Hummer regularly, but it is one of my car dealer's private cars so I give him a break. Normally, I'd charge about the same as you for it.

Only thing I do differently on it is that I don't use a machine - I don't know if that qualifies as a trick or not.

Well it wasn't as bad I as I thought it would be today. I was lucky that the car was in pretty decent shape except for the engine. The interior was in good condition so I didn't have to spend a lot of time there. The outside had some pretty bad scratches from being off road. It did take all day pretty much to do the car and I thought the engine by far was the hardest part to clean as well as the roof due the big tire rack.

Most of the exterior was done with SSR 2.5 and a rotary w/ 6" pad, I did use a wool pad on one of the major scratches on the side. I followed up with #21 w/ PC and finishing pad and AIO on the roof. Tires and wells with Hyper Dressing. Windows with NXT. Trim with Trim Detailer (really like this stuff). Also much of the chrome and lights with Magic Wand (great product) works wonders on bumpers and bugs.

:xyxthumbs Looks great . How long did it take ? Who makes that Trim Detailer ? Does it leave any greasy residue behind . It has a nice look to it .

I have 2 ladders that are about 4 ft in length and about 3 ft high that I got a Home Depot, they are like mini platforms and work great on these types of cars.

It took me about 7 hours.

The Trim Detailer is Meguiar's, no greasy residue nice shine to it.
