I was finaly able to do a full paint correction on my good buddy’s 1999 GAGT. Me and Tim had talked about it in the past but since he lives 3+ hours away it took us almost a year to finaly setup a weekend to do it. It needed it badly, definitely beyond saving but well worth trying, we think it came out great considering what we started with.
Wash with foam gun and megs goldclass
Clay with an old mothers claybar I had, didn’t wanna waiste a new one on this, it was THAT bad. VHT and rubber all the way down the sides from the track and all the other surfaces where loaded with some seriously bad contaminants.
Rotary with edge2K 6 pads, optimum compound at 1500-2400 rpm
Porter Cable with Danase 5 CCS polishing pads and LC 4 polishing spot pads, megs #80 speed 6 the whole way.
Megs #26 high tech yellow wax
