I completed this one a couple days ago but have been too busy to post the results.

This car came to me with a very fair share of swirls, holograms, and overall dullness. I stepped into her pretty hard as she will be sold within the month. The owner wanted the swirls gone and it to look as new as possible, again. My finals were:

-CG Extreme Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut / Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Yellow Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm

-Blackfire Ceramiclear Finishing Polish via rotary and LC Black Finishing Pad @ 1200 rpm

-Blackfire Wet Diamond by hand

-Meguiar's Extreme shine on tires (with EO applicator)

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

-Z16 on trim

Questions/Comments/Advice, fire away.

We need a smiley that says "GREAT JOB SEAN"....

I know what I'm using this weekend. I have a car coming in with a little less than that, and wasnt sure if my hi-temp extreme leveler was gonna be enough...

Did they require many passes?

Allow me to fire the first shot...Great work!!! That thing was a mess before..looked like he used a brillo pad to wash it. Those were some nasty swirls!! Nice transformation.

Looks awesome man, interesting approach with OP/EC mix. How do you feel this helps? Less dusting, more workable? I think everyone who does heavy correction via rotary should have HT EC on hand--I will not leave the house without it.

BTW, what was that car washed with? Sandpaper? :D

Joe: Less dust, more workability, yes!

I'll put it this way...

The day I completed this job, it was 94* out and the vehicle sat in direct sun the entire 5 hours of working. I was able to make 5 overlapping passes on the hood without gumming or major dusting. All residue wiped away without problems. I don't necessarily mix these two products, but put two beads next to each other on the panel. Honestly, I LOVE this approach.

Zane: 3 days of rain now. I got the interior detailed, but no good weather to do the exterior. You will have to wait until the weather clears up so I can clean her up :).

That's enough for me, I'll give it a whirl over the weekend. :D

man sean, u amaze me. gotta love hondas soft paint. that cleaned up beautifully. i cant believe u could go from a cutting pad via rotary to a finishing polish and finishing pad via rotary

Sean,

Damn that was some work you done there :2thumbs:

So, whers's the G35 pics? :chuckle:

Incredible improvement, Sean! The paint looks completely different! Pretty amazing how much swirls hurt a car's appearance and how much darker, deeper and wetter it looks without them. :)

I too am anxiously awaiting the pics of your new ride.

Flake shots: I thought I was looking at a bass boat for a second! First time I have ever seen that color.

Lorne

Bence: Ever used Wolfgang Sealant?

Then you've used BF Wet Diamond, just a different color. Honestly, I really find no discernable differences between the two. Excellent product, yes, but not worth the extra coins.

Regarding my car, here is an interior teaser as the exterior is still due for an initial detail...It has been pissing rain for days now...
