This was a tough job. I did a ton of wetsanding and got no where. The paint was rock hard so correction was limited.

PG via PC/Yellow CCS x2 on each panel

SIP via PC/Orange CCS

PO106FF via PC/Blue CCS

PoliSeal via PC/Blue CCS

The car looks really good. Nice turnaround. You would have had more luck with a rotory buffer. Still looks good tho.

Wow, that looks really good! I'm kind of surprised someone was willing to sink the kind of money a detail like that costs into an '87 Fiero.

I got nowhere with my Hitachi at 1500rpm, and didn't feel comfortable trying to push my luck with it so I stuck with the safe route.

I would love to have one of those for a project car, so many possible engine swaps.

Nice turnaround. Is there some kind of protective thing on the tails?

I assuming they are super faded tail light covers

Those are the "blackout" taillights Pontiac was using in the period. There is the yellow/red lens, and a black plastic ribbed spacer, and then the clear lens.

gtpaul, is that broken sail panel glass just regular glass that can be replaced, or is it part of a smoked lens (that's probably no longer available)?

The owner has a sail panel replacement piece, probably from a junkyard car...

That looks great, your pictures are hiding the great work you did. I would have also tried to polish out those taillights. I completed a Fiero a few years ago and those tails were easy to polish.

Aluminum polish on chrome tips? Next time try some #0000 steel wool and then chrome polish. Believe it or not, it will prob come out better than that and a lot easier!
