1980 black corvette follow-up

i worked on the corvette i mentioned in a previous thread today (http://autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/91870-1980-black-corvette.html))...about seven hours worth (nearly all exterior) and it's still faaaaar from perfect...and never will be. the owner said she is considering a repaint and just wanted it looking better...no monumental effort desired.

quick summary of what i was dealing with:

--failing paint everywhere (this was a repaint from 10 years ago)

--exposed primer in a few areas

--oxidation on the front and rear bumpers

--cracks in the paint all over the hood

--hundreds of tiny rock chips on the lower panels and front bumper

--massive amounts of baked on bugs on the front bumper...been there for years

end result was that it looks great from 5 feet away. closer than that all of the defects start to stand out...and in direct sun there is still moderate swirling and marring everywhere. i took it easy on it since the paint is in such poor condition. i didn't want to have a piece fall off or shorten its life further.

Very nice work on that horrible failing paint. I recently did a 67' Corvette Stingray, and it had failing all over the place, so I know how frustrating those jobs can be.

Looks like you did really nice work though :)
