This sweet machine belongs to a friend of mine. We have talked for a long time about me polishing it and finally got it done a few weeks ago.

He has build the motor himself and done a few other mods.

1969 RS/SS

350 four speed

12 bolt posi 3:55

A/C,Black Deluxe interior, Power disc brakes, steering.

Suspension Mods: Guldstrand springs, upper control arm mod and sway bar.

Poly bushings. Comp engineering traction bars.

The dyno #s are 388 rwhp and 376 rwtq.

He can drive it to a 12.33@110mph in the 1/4 mile.

Since she is a garage queen, it was not that bad. Since it has never been clayed, that reveiled a good amount of bonded contaminants on all horz surfaces. The paint had some light swirling on the horz surfaces. Tired to capture the light swirling with a camera, but had no luck inside.

Procedure:

QEW-clay-QEW

Polish hood, trunk and front fenders EC/OP mix yellow LC VC pad 1500.

Polish entire car with Menzerna 106ff/RMG mix Green excel P2 pad 1400.

IPA 50/50 wipedown

3x Z2pro w/ ZFX on paint, chrome and 1x on wheels

Z8 on paint, chrome and wheels.

Tires got Z-16

Top got PB TR-The streaks/lines that you see on the top have always been there. Next time we will try a deep cleaning of the top first.

As requested here is a pic of the engine bay. It could use a bit more.

Awesome! :2thumbs:

Is there a big difference between polishing a modern cars curves versus an old cars? It looks easier on the older cars. Less moldings but more emblems.

Man, I absolutely LOVE those Camaro's. The style is timeless and I'd love to own one someday.

Great work making it the beauty it deserves to be!

That turned out great! I almost bought one just like that a few years ago except with a white top. Also there was one at an outdoor concert we went to that was black with tons of swirls, they really came out under the streetlights. I left a note on his windshield but never heard from him. Darn, I really wanted to do that car!

:thx everyone for your kind words.

THANKS GM, the car looks awesome out in the sunshine, it looked good before but really stands out now. You should see people's heads snap around while driving down the road.

:2thumbs:  :2thumbs:

Thanks again everyone! :2thumbs: I added a pic of the engine bay to the original post.
