here is the second car in a collection i'm working my way through, a 1968 austin healey 3000.
process:
--ONR wash
--english custom metal polishes on chrome problem areas
--collinite metal wax on all exterior chrome
--p21s wheel cleaner (love this stuff) and tire brush
--vacuum convertible top (a stray cat appeared to have napped there!)
--303 on wheels...E1 tire shine the following day for gloss
--OHC and orange pads (5.25" and 4" where needed), then FPII and 6" white
--collinite 845, then DP Max Wax
overall, the vehicle turned out great, but the single stage paint was difficult to get to finish down like i'm used to. i tried the FPII w/ a black pad as well, but micro-marring was still present. i'd give the finish about a 90% correction rating. the wheels are painted...originally i thought they were aluminum and heavily oxidized...thenkfully they were failry clean with a flat gray paint finish. some rust coming through on some of the rims' edges.
on to the pics!
after ONR and taped up for polishing. i normally don't tape this much when using a PC, but i don't want to risk damaging any of the old, fragile trim or scuff the chrome.
condition of the finish...
afters...
don't mind the hole above the emblem...i removed the cargo rack to polish underneith...
thanks for looking!
