A very good friend of mine from my firehouse owns a 1934 Fire truck. He asked me to help him get it ready for national convention that he was taking it to, I gladly told him i would and that i would be honored to work on this antique. After talking with him about it, I found out that it was repainted in 1968 and ever since then it received a coat of wax annually.
Its kept in a garage year round so there wasnt much flilth on the car. This picture is after we washed it.
I did a couple test spots with M105 and it confirmed my beliefs of heavy oxidation. So I started the buffing process, being extremely careful of heat and speed, as well as the areas around the golf leaf letters and striping.
I used M105 on a black wool cutting pad by Ardex
You can see here as half the hood is done! This is done with just M105, i would follow it up with M205 on MF pad.
The body lines on this were just unreal! You just dont see anything like this now a days!
The finished product at the convention
