I found the meguiars quik clay for 9.99 and the mothers clay set for 18.99 at my local stores. Should I bother with them, or just order clay magic.

The Mother's clay worked well for me. Heard bad things about Meguiar's quick clay. If there's a Zaino distributor in your area, you can get two Zaino claybars for $18.

The mother's kit is solid but I don't like the QD and bar is rather small. After trying the mother's kit I ordered the 3m bar which I think is a better value and a quality clay. It's rather hard to find though, ordered mine from motorhead.net

I have had pretty good success with the Mothers bar. I just picked up a McGuiars and I admit its alot smaller. Haven't tried it yet.

I found the MOTHERS clay to be too slippery for my tastes. The bar only lasted me 1 car because I kept dropping the little pieces of clay. I have heard a couple of others complain about this same thing, but maybe we're just klutzes. People have said the Clay magic is not as slippery and it is at a very comparable price. I plan to try it or the Zaino next.

Anyone: Is the Zaino clay slippery? Compare it to Clay Magic please?

Check out my Best Clay poll in the polls forum.

Mothers worked great for me..I didnt think it was slippery but thats the only bar Ive used so I cant compare to the others..

I agree with you about 3M. I've also used mothers. Mothers is good, but 3M is amazing. Very good clay. It's much stronger than mothers. I'll definately be using 3M again.

I went through the several steps to register then order which brought up a number of MotorHead screens. Everything looked secure until the final confirmation page which, as I was waiting for the MotorHead server to accept my order, I too late noticed the broken padlock indicating this particular screen wasn't secure - unfortunately, this screen had my complete credit card info for all those on the ether who might be interested!

puterbum, I have not tried the Zaino clay, but all others mentioned in this thread. I now just use the Clay Magic "blue" and it has just the right amount of grab. Please give it a try, well worth the price!

Hmm, maybe I could trade someone some of the CM stuff for some 3M or Z clay to try out....I gave out 3 details for Christmas that I have yet to do.

No paint correction needed here, but I couldn't resist posting this car! It's a beauty. 505hp Z06. The GT1 Championship Edition was a special series of only 125 cars to commemorate the 10th year of the American LeMans Racing Series.

Only 17 of the 125 cars were Z06's. This car is number 17 of 17 Black Z06's built for the GT1 series.

It was just washed and immaculate when I got there. I clayed with Zaino Claybar/Z6, then applied one coat of Blackfire WD and one coat of Z8 (both by hand).

He's now sold on BFWD... He bought 1 BFWD, 1 Z8 and a dozen "Fluffer" microfibers.

(He has his new personalized tag ordered... 1 OF 17 .)

Great work Bill

The car looks great!

Lets see some of those trashed minivans now? LOL!

Haha... I think I've graduated. I'm only doing "specialty cars" now. I probably turned down 20 mini-vans/SUV's this summer. (Got burned out on cleaning up old fries and T-Bell wrappers!):scared:

When you get a phone call and it's a woman and her first question is this: "Do you do interiors?", then you automatically know she has 4 kids under 10 and it's a complete war-zone! (You also know she wants to pay you thirty dollars to detail it!)

I usually respond: "No... I don't. Sorry.":D

Okay Bill, I realize that you can't see me, but I am drooling all over my keyboard.:drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5:
