i know its quite common and better to spary some kind of QD on a foam or somt kinf of applicator before using it. but i hear its important to use NONcarnuba QDs like MEguairs Final inspection.



but from my experience, Quick Detailer works much better than Final INspection. it even does a much better job removing micro contaminants off teh surface and makes is slicker than what FI can do. is this because of it has carnuba in it? or does it now?

The Meguiars stuff that comes in the Red bottle contains caranuba.

yes there are two kinds of QDs from Meguiars. one in a burgandy bottle called "Quick Detailer". the other is in the pale bottle which is part of Meguiars mirror glaze series called "final inspection", #34 i think.



so quick detailer does have carnuba in it. maybe thats why it works better in QDing the surface of something that has meguairs gold class wax on it. since it does have carnuba, it will be a bad idea to use with Zaino correct?

oh, thanks for clearing that out. i do know of and use quick wax. its obvious that has carnuba since it is a "wax". so are silicones safe to use with zaino and Klasse though? maybe its caus of the silicones i get a slicker finish than #34... which i guess makes sense

Are you sure? Cuz I have seen more of our members say that the red DOES have carnauba and FI does not. When I asked this question back when I was applying Klasse SG layers, someone said that the QD and FI were identical, just to different markets. I then used the red QD and the next layer of SG did not go on very well if at all. Then I saw a couple of posts that says the red QD DOES have carnauba... I'm confused, but that is nothing new

i do recall reading the red bottle that using it will prolong your wax's strength and protection (much needed for gold class). which hints that it does have a tiny bit of carnuba in it perhaps?

I knew the Red bottle had something in it hat FI did not. My bad, I guess it is silicone and not caraunba.

Actually, there are TWO red bottles quick detailers...



One is "Quick Detailer" and one is "Quick Wax." The "Quick Wax" one does contain wax, which is also in a red bottle.

Both wax and silicon wil interfere with the bonding process so you shouldnt use them to help you buff off SG or zaino if you plan to layer. But water itself also will interfere with a polymer bonding process so..., if you can, try to buff out residues w/out and QD.

finally someone seems to know for sure! so Quick Detailer gives me better results with meguiars products because of that silicon. but now i know not to use that and use FI instead when wetting the pads for zaino or klasse

If you are going with Zaino, use Z-6. I think it is specially formulated for their polymer. It is a very nice product indeed.

I was contacted by this client through a forum back in October. Unfortunetly this was when my dad was having misery. The client agreed to wait till my dad was out of the woods and so here we are now. The client went ahead and did a decontamination wash and clay barred the vehicle before bringing it over.

The products used to remove the swirls, scratches and marring were:
