The weather outside is frightful but the FIRE is so delightful !!!

:D

Really it is cold here and about to rain in the desert but I got my Blackfire Kit 2 days ago so I endured the 50 degree weather and detailed my car. The picture didn't turn out good because of the lighting (cloudy weather) but here it is anyway after 3 coats of Blackfire. :bounce

Yuo call that a good detail job;) Beautiful work, really shows off the blackfires good looks and your obvious attention to detail.

Nice Job :up Your black paint looks great with BlackFire on it. There is nothing like the sight of a nicely detailed black car.

Love that first one. You can almost see BF's muted look mimicking that carnuba shine.

What do you use on those tires? They look great!

First time I used the Eagle One Concours which came with my CMA order. I love it although I will have to alternate now with Vinylex since I have 3 Liters of those. BTW, here's what I did:

1. Dawned wash car

2. Clayed with 3M and used FI as the lubricant.

3. Dawned wash again.

4. Used 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compund by hand ( didn't get all the minor scratches but I didn't want to use the medium or heavy for fear of messing it up).

5. Used 3M Finese It with PC and CMA Yellow pad.

6. Used 3M SMR with PC and CMA white pad.

7. Dawned wash the car again.

8. Used Blackfire Polish with PC and CMA white pad.

9. Used Blackfire Protectant 3X with PC and CMA gray pad.

10. Used Blackfire QD to top off.

Of course, thanks to Steve's MF Towels and NeatItem towels for buffing out all of those polish in between coats. :up

Neo,

I am glad to hear you like the Eagle One Concours. It's one hell of a product for the price. :up

:up incredible depth.....awesome.....whats with all the dawnX3 though...i know you have to for residue...but dont you like any Pinnacle stuff or sumthin else....not busting your chops on a great job...just curious...:D

That is a nice shine.... The more I see and hear about Blackfire, the more I like it! Obviously your prep work is the key, but that is one heck of a way to protect it and show it off.

neomatrix,

Awesome job! I hope my dark green Accord turns out just as awesome as your black Lexus. I got a few questions:

1. How does the Blackfire QD compare to the Meguiar's Final Inspection? Is one better than the other?

2. How long did it take the Blackfire polish and protectant to completely dry in 50 degree weather?

3. How long did you leave the BF protectant on before wiping it off?

Incredible deep black shine ! I can't wait to try Blackfire this spring on my black Mustang !

What year is that Lexus, I always loved the look and ride of that car.

:up

Thanks guys.

FLONI:

I wish I had the PPCL but I procrastinated and missed the sale last week. I'd wait until next January when I have a few things to order from CMA, then I'd get the PPCL. Anyway, I used Dawn to make sure all waxes are gone. I'd like to have the ABC but I'd probably use up my Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo first and the Blackfire Shampoo that came with the kit. I just have too much stuff right now.

I haven't used the FI on my car after I Blackfired it so I can't really compare. I'll definitely use it on a daily basis since I have a Gallon to finish whereas the Blackfire QD was only 16 Oz. I"ll update when I use it with Blackfire.

I actually applied the protectant on the whole car with the PC afterwhich I buffed with the MF towel. It took about an hour for each time I applied and buffed. However, I did try applying the protectant on the hood by hand and I was able to buff it right away. This was about 52 degrees in my garage. It was very easy to use either with a PC or by hand but I decided to use the PC because I was short of time. I also used very little even with the PC. I just put like 5 dime sized spot on the pad and that was able to cover like a whole panel.

Clean Dean

That's a 1998.

I must say that the finish on the LS400 is simply stunning, youve made me wanna buy a black bentley now - again - just a awesome finish.
