Car was pretty swirled up..The pictures don't show the severity. Had been through the swirlomatic car washes several times...

Washed

Clayed

DACP w/LC yellow pad

OP w/LC white pad

RMG w/LC black pad

EX-P by hand

NB w/red finishing pad

Had a hard time getting the swirls to come out....Thought they were out until the sun set and put the halogens on them...still some present....no where near as bad as they were but I was still disappointed. Customer was happy but I was not...I don't know what else I needed to do. I thought infinity paint was soft.

Here are the befores

I agree...The car looks great. In the very last picture I noticed the exhaust, just wondering was it chrome? If so..some AIO would really make it pop...All around great job tackling those swirls! How do you like the cut of the Yellow LC pad? Do you feel it leaves a lot of micromarring?

Thanks...To tell you the truth I was so darn worn out I didn't pay any attention to the exhaust. I was happy with the yellow pad...That was the only pad I could get results with

You did a stand up job on those swirls. Was the owner happy? I think it looks great.

He seemed happy but again...I wasn't satisfied...I really need someone to get me some training on rotary use.

Looks really good! Infiniti paint does seem to be soft in that it mars more easily than other paint but swirls can still be tough to remove since you have to finese them out. I go through the same thing with them.

The paint looks very deep and wet! :up

However....I'd suggest using the free image optimizer on www.xat.com to resize your pictures. Whatever program you are using now is causing a lot of distortion and doesn't show off your hard work as well as a better program would. :)

Looks great from here.

What % of the swirls did you get out?

Any pics of what was left?

I would say 85% were taken care of. I didn't get any pics of what as left. Sorry

Any suggestions on how to finese them out easier. It wore me out trying to get them out. Maybe I am looking for unrealistic results...How are the images appearing distorted? Dont see it on my end. I am using photobucket as my image host. Thanks..

For left over micromarring you cant get out without instilling more try the 3M Perfect It III 05937..I picked some up a couple days ago and love it!! As for the pictures, when you resize your photos quality is lost sometimes, or the image becomes sweked. As it may be hard to see on your end, some people pick it up right away. I would second what Scottwax said..If you throw them into Xat, you can quickly resize all photos to 600 as your width, it will automatically set the correct height and you will be set to go in seconds. Also, if your photos are already resized you will get faster upload times at photobucket. xat makes it a breeze

I see in the background you were using a rotary, did you sue a pc at all ? I did the same car a couple of days a go and used OP via the rotary and followed with 106FF and a green Sonus pad. the results were great. the PC and 106FF did a great job. you can try OP or maybe FPll with a PC on a light polishing pad and see if that helps you out. just my thoughts, maybe some other people with give you their ideas as well.

I started using a rotary but I am not very good at it right now...It seemed to want to move around the car on its own. Was hard for me to control, at least on the vertical panels. That is why I switched to the PC.

Sott is right - I've had the same issue with my car ('03 G35). It's super easy to induce marring, but you really have to coax the scracthes and swirls out of Infiniti paint. It takes longer, but I've started just doing more steps of less abrasive combos, like SFX-2 and a white pad twice or even three times rather than SFX-1 and an orange pad once. It seems to work better for me.

This has taken me over a year to figure out and 2 trips down to Mequiars. With a rotary and wool and #85, follow this with a rotary or PC with M66. This is the ticket, the G35 has soft paint and it was just driving me nuts, I am surprised I still have any paint left trying to get rid of micromarring. I had been to a bunch of sites asking for a solution but nothing helped, including a whole mess of products, from High end stuff to OTC. :2thumbs: But this was the solution - M66
