I cleaned my buddy's truck for him a few days ago. He's usually pretty good about keeping his vehicles up, but he's in construction so he truck is always getting dirty on the job site. He got the truck a year ago and already has 46,000 miles on it, so it needed a good detail.

This was my test vehicle for my new Menzerna polishes. I used some power gloss on some of the heavy scratches, buffed the entire exterior with intensive polish, followed by the final polish. I must say that these polishes are probably the best I have ever used and definitely worth the extra money.

Here are a few of the before pictures:

I started using the Poorboy's products a few months ago and have been experimenting with them, but am not completely satisfied with the end results I've been getting. I have noticed some minor swirls left behind after using the SSR1 in a few cases. The Poorboys polishes definitely have their place in my detailing cabinet and are very easy to work with, but in my opinion Menzerna is a far superior product.

Do you mean that you're trying to remove the swirls with SSR1 and its not getting all of them out? If that's the case, it should be expected. SSR1 is their gloss product...try SSR2.5 for removing swirls, and if you get something real bad you can try the "liquid sandpaper" :chuckle: SSR3.

By the way...truck looks REAL nice!! :waxing:

I have been using SSR2.5 first, followed by SSR2 and for the last step before sealing or waxing I've been using the SSR1. I've been detailing for over 11 years now, so I know the proper pads & techniques, but I am experimenting some very minor swirls left over from the SSR1. I am exteremely anal because most of my details are exotic and high end cars, so any swirls left behind are unacceptable. I think I'll keep using the Poorboy's on the lighter colored cars and keep the Menzerna for the darker colored cars. I recently switched over to some new pads I bought from CMA which I used on this detail, so that might be why I was getting some swirling left behing even after using the SSR1. I have a couple black details coming up, so I'll have to try my new pads using the Poorboy's to see if there is any difference from switching pads.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
