'02 twin turbo Camaro SS & '05 Z51 Corvette 'vert details

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!!

Despite freezing rain in the morning then regular rain in the afternoon I was able to work today. My good friends and clients at RP Motorsport (www.rpmotorsport.com) had a few "toys" for me to detail. They are a local tuner shop here in Marietta with a nack for producing ungodly horsepower numbers out of GM's finest iron. I would have rescheduled due to the weather but since they are delivering these cars tomorrow and they had been on my schedule for over a week and I didn't have any openings until after Christmas...it was today or never. These guys have given me a ton of referrals and cleared a spot for me to work in their shop so it became a no brainer!! I still had to wash the vehicles in 40 degree rain (should have brought my QEW!!) but after that had a nice heated shop to work in.

I have detailed the Camaro for them before. It is a twin turbo charged 382c.i. LS1 that was completely custom fabricated in-house. With the boost turned north of 20psi and with race gas in the tank it will consistantly put 930+ RWHP down!!!!! On pump gas and with street boost levels it will make "only" in the 720 RWHP range. To look at it you would never expect it to be as insane as it is...a definite sleeper. The owner is meticulous too...he keeps a bottle of Pinnacle's Crystal Mist in the trunk. :up The Z51 was relatively new (~7K) and stock. All the guys did was a custom computer tune and add a shift kit.

Process and products were identical for both cars.

Enjoy,

Mike

The details:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo while freezing my wet nuggets off.

Polish with Meg's #80 using a LC white pad and my PC set at 5-6.

Wipe down with Meg's #34.

Seal with Pinnacle's Souveran Paste Wax by hand with a foam pad.

Exterior glass has ClearKote's VM, tires and wells have AA and rims are sealed with Meg's #20.

That is a ROWDY Camaro. Still one of my favorite cars of all time. Bring it back Chevrolet!!

EDIT: A quick internet search, and it looks like 2007 may bring the Camaro back. The concept art I saw on one web site had it being very reminiscent of 67-69 Camaros. With the resurgence of Baldwin that would not surprise me.

Two cheers to my butt kicking brethren!!! Nice work as usual Mike!

PS: Beware of those unforgiving snap back camaro wiper blades!!! Quite a few not so nice stories!!

Awesome work, Mike! The paint on both looks dripping wet!

I might be in the same boat this weekend with regards to weather-terrible new since this week and next are prime Christmas tip weeks. ;)

Great work Mike!

Both cars look super slick. I remember that NBM Camaro from the F-body Gathering last year, what a sleeper.

Thats good that you have customers like RP to keep you busy on rainy days.
