'02 twin turbo Camaro SS & '05 Z51 Corvette 'vert details

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!!

Despite freezing rain in the morning then regular rain in the afternoon I was able to work today. My good friends and clients at RP Motorsport (www.rpmotorsport.com) had a few "toys" for me to detail. They are a local tuner shop here in Marietta with a nack for producing ungodly horsepower numbers out of GM's finest iron. I would have rescheduled due to the weather but since they are delivering these cars tomorrow and they had been on my schedule for over a week and I didn't have any openings until after Christmas...it was today or never. These guys have given me a ton of referrals and cleared a spot for me to work in their shop so it became a no brainer!! I still had to wash the vehicles in 40 degree rain (should have brought my QEW!!) but after that had a nice heated shop to work in.

I have detailed the Camaro for them before. It is a twin turbo charged 382c.i. LS1 that was completely custom fabricated in-house. With the boost turned north of 20psi and with race gas in the tank it will consistantly put 930+ RWHP down!!!!! On pump gas and with street boost levels it will make "only" in the 720 RWHP range. To look at it you would never expect it to be as insane as it is...a definite sleeper. The owner is meticulous too...he keeps a bottle of Pinnacle's Crystal Mist in the trunk. :up The Z51 was relatively new (~7K) and stock. All the guys did was a custom computer tune and add a shift kit.

Process and products were identical for both cars.

Enjoy,
Mike

The details:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo while freezing my wet nuggets off.

Polish with Meg's #80 using a LC white pad and my PC set at 5-6.

Wipe down with Meg's #34.

Seal with Pinnacle's Souveran Paste Wax by hand with a foam pad.

Exterior glass has ClearKote's VM, tires and wells have AA and rims are sealed with Meg's #20.

again I ask you may i swing in your paint!? Awesome Job on both, the paint is very deep and wet in booth.

Greg

wow that is awesome. I did a SALEEN last week in a shop. The lighting makes the paint look so clear and wet. :rockon

Yea that camaro is a sleeper! stock seats? stock belts? The only thing I noticed from the outside is what looks like a roll bar behind the headrest. That underhood shot is awesome. Is it on the bottle? Looks like N2O lines running to the turbo.

Oh yeah, paint looks like butter. Sweet detailing. Really shows what souveran can do with good prep work. Awesome job, both cars look just amazing.

while freezing my wet nuggets off

No kidding...what dreadful Atlanta weather today. :(

Souveran on red Vette. Drool!

Luca: I got a sample of Poorboys Super Slick & Suds for ya. Kicks Gold Class hiney. :)

The twin turbo is definetly the money shot! The other ones are pretty nice too (Jk). I have been dying to try the ps carnuba, if the results on those paint jobs are any indicator, i will have to order the souveran tomorrow. Nice work!

THANK YOU all for the kind words!!

LastDetail...no naaaaaws....those are either fuel or oil lines (not too sure) to feed that hungry beast. The interior is bone stock save for a 6 point chromemoly cage, rear seat delete (with a sweet carpeted box to fill the void) and a Hurst shifter.

Lee I'm sure it would but GC is a great value for $9 a gallon and it is fairly strong while still being gentle. 9 times out of 10 I need a soap with some backbone. That said....I'm always game for a sample!!! :punk:

40*; come on! You will need thermal gear for CT :).

Great work...The paint on both; deep and wet. Any vids of the blue one?

Thanks again all!

Sean...my camera does take mpegs (Cannon PowerShot A95) but alas I am e-stupid in that regard...still don't know how to do it. :bubba

How can I get a sample of poorboys super slick and suds? I own a 2001 chevy s10 LS 2 wheel drive. Its deep red in color. By the way, those cars look awesome. Great job!
