I just clayed my license plates. Does it get any more nuts than this? My wife and kids think I've lost my mind.

Its really a two part question: 1)What is the most common mistake newbies make in detailing? 2)What's the worst thing you've ever seen done to a new car?

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS Sport(Black). The B-pillar on the car has a kind of plasticky coating on it that I cannot get to shine. Right now it looks like a blotchy rainbow. I have tried Sonus, Klasse, BF polish and wax, bug & tar remover, Eagle One Wet, etc. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks

Does anyone have any experience with these products? They are sold on the internet and by mail. They're ads are in most of the auto mags. Thanks. BTW-I did a search and nothing came up.
