Did I just hologram the ```` outta my car??

First wash of the season... Protectant totally absent from the winter storage. After wash, I clayed the finish, using a foam gun and soapy Pinnacle XMT for lubricant.... This is the outcome... Of course I plan on going over it with SSR 1 with a DA and black pad before I start sealing and...

Poor Boys Black hole glaze... Proper use?

Ive used it before with my Porter Cable DA and medium pad with less than stellar results... Easily gummed up (did I over work it? ) and I didn't get any noticeable reduction in haze/swirls (after polishing) or an enhanced shine. I plan on revisiting it again, by hand this time, as I live in an...

PBS de-icing boot restorer and preservatives.

He is a product I've been using on my tires and moldings... While not automotive based, it is, in my opinion, the best product I have EVER used for its purpose. Designed for the rubber, pneumatic de-icing boots on the leading edge of the wings on small to medium size Aircraft, you know it can...

    PBS De-Icing boot sealant...

Yeah, as the name implies, this is made for the aircraft industry... It's a restorer and preservative made for rubber pneumatic de-icing boots. I'm in the aircraft refinishing business and every plane, before it leave our shop, get's this treatment. As a matter of fact, I used it just today...

    Headlight restoration...inside and out.

I have a set of 'Ebay Projectors', that I've had apart many times (retrofitting HID projectors/lenses)... The last couple of times I had them apart, I didn't seal them very well, and I occasionally get condensation on the inside...which invariably causes stains...That, and they are a few years...

Brought out the Crystal Glo again...still amazing!

Well, I haven't had any time so far this year to do a complete polish on the car...been waiting to buy my first rotory. But I figured my car still needs some protection, so I grabbed my bottle of Crystal Glo and laid down a coat... As far as one-step treatment goes, I'm very impressed (again!)...

So I bought my first rotary...the Simonize rotary....

...from Canadian Tire, on sale (reg. $99). Got it home, mounted up my Lake Country backing plate and LC orange pad, grabbed some SSR2 and tested it out on the roof... First impressions...not too heavy. Nice variable (stepless) speed dial, similar to my PC orbital. Lots of power and lots of...

    Pitted hood...wet sand?

My ride has 240,000Km on 'er now...and the hood is showing every Km of it! Lots of white 'pits' from stones, etc... I'm wondering about a LIGHT, 1500/2000 grit wet sand to see if I can correct some of this damage? Followed up with a full PC polish... Opinions?

    Wash your car with milk??

The other day, I decided to quickly hose off the car, as it's been quite windy, and there was an accumulating mass of tree buds/leafs/etc... Mind you, I haven't used the hose here before at all. I hosed it down and let it air dry. We were expecting rain in the following days, so I didn't bother...

    Going from orbital to rotary...suggestions?

I've used my trusty PC orbital for the last 2 seasons, with satisfactory results. Not perfect, mind you...but good... This summer, I want to step it up to a rotary. I already have the Lake Country 6.5" plate and 3 pads (Starter kit) and SSR 1, 2, 2.5. Can you recommend me a good rotary? Also...

    Beautiful Italian stoppers!!

I just wanted to post some pic's of these beauties. (Not mounted yet...sorry) Some of you maybe lucky enough to work on a car that come equipped with these... Me, I'm lucky enough to find a great deal on these for my own car! I think they'll just add a sweet, immaculate, finishing touch to the...
