I haven't posted in a while, but I have the oppurtunity to pick up three boats for weekly washes and full details at least twice a year. Two of the boats ( a 57" and a 64") will need to be washed once a week and part of the year a 100' yacht. I just need to know pricing for a wash...granted it...
I detailed a new client today and he had spray paint all over his truck. I guess he was driving down the freeway and a spray can was bouncing down the street and exploded sending the paint raining down on his truck. The paint is more like drops than a mist. I clayed the surface with both...
Well here are a few of my details from this weekend that I thought I would share. Up first is a 2004 TDI Jetta, it was not in bad condition from 10 feet, but here in AZ they resurface the streets with tar and this client got caught driving down a freshly tarred street. These are just afters...
I have a customer with a 2003 Navigator that has a bone color leather. He weathers jeans quite a bit and the color has begun to rub onto the leather and stain it. I have tried the usual 10:1 woolite/water, Meg's leather cleaner, lexol leather cleaner and none of them put a dent in it. Just...
It's kind of a cool idea (no pun intended), however it sure doesn't seem safe to the finish. Look at them washing the cars, they're just using the steam and a mitt! :nono The machine looks pretty bad ass though! :D...
How many of you guys use a pressure washer to wash your cars up? I never really thought it was that safe because it could possibly push the dirt into the clear/paint. However, I am looking for some ways to speed my process up and I just ordered my CRspotless deionized water system. What do...
Well here are a few of this past weekends details. All fairly straight forward...
Up first was the BMW X5, This client has the Porsche in the next post and he lets me go off and do whatever is neccessary to keep the vehicles clean and looking top notch, which is quite nice for a change...
Well my PC finally broke after 2 years of use. I was polishing an RV and I noticed the spindle nut was getting a bit loose and when I stopped to check it out the spindle nut completely fell out with the pad attached. I know I could acquire the parts to fix it, however I am in the market for...
I just made a long overdue order for the Menzerna products I have been wanting to try and I was curious how agressive IP is? Is it comparable to DACP or less?
I detailed for a new customer today and they have a 37 foot RV. They are quite interested in getting it washed and waxed and I was curious as to how much to charge. Usually for boats I do $15 a foot, so I was thinking somewhere along those same lines, however I would like others feedback.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of melted wax? The wax is in one of my customers change/cigarette lighter compartment and is about 1/4" thick. I know that I could scrape it out, however I don't want to leave scuff or scrape marks underneath.
This is a new customer of mine and today was the first detailing day. I got a chance to try out my new Poorboy's wheel sealant and S&G, and all I can say is wow! Anyway, the black Rover looks great in the pics, but it is in desperate need of some paint attention (Pretty bad marring and...
I detailed my uncles engine today on his 1996 Ford Ranger because he is selling it. It has 170K miles and has never been detailed, hardly washed and I don't think it has ever been waxed or polished. This was just the begining of my detailing adeventure with this truck. There were some spots...
I am going to need to pick up some new leather cleaner and conditioner soon and I am looking for some recommendations. Right now I use Meguiars 2 step program and I am not all that impressed. I am open for suggstions!
Also, does anyone use the convertible top cleaner and conditioning? Do you...
I detailed a new clients Navigator last week and he told me that his parents owned MasterCraft boats in Phoenix. So I hooked up with them today and we talked about detailing. They want to contract me to detail boats for them because the season is starting up again. I would be detailing New...
I was just curious what some of you do to clean out those grimey door jambs? I usually give them a wipe down after washing, but they still don't look that clean. Any suggestions?
Packaging: I recieved a sample from Steve, so it's definately not the end result. However I am sure it will recieve the same great precise and to the point labeling as all the other great Poorboys products.
Product: The EX-P+ looks exactly like EX-P in color. The consistency seemed to be...
I have a new customer to detail today and he was telling me that he works for a company that does some sort of protective coating. He told me his driver spilled some on the highway and his wife drove through the mess and the front wheel wells are coated with this substance.
What is the best...
I washed this Chevelle yesterday for a customer. It is his pride and joy and was completely restored 2 years ago. Unfortunately it has been sitting for a year and as you will see in the befores that there is quite a bit of dirt bulid up. I will be doing a full detail on the paint here in a...
This was a fun day, you just can't beat detailing Jags. No interior shots on any of these because they were already in awesome condition. These are my girlfriends families cars. Also, everything was done using a PC on the exterior.
