I just got to test mine for the first time today.
The problem is it doesn`t spin on Speed #1 and #1.5. It just produces a whirring sound.
I`m not sure if the issue is with my step-down transformer or if the tool is defective. It works though when I set it at #2 and #3 (I haven`t tried higher...
