    Bosch 1250 DEVS 6.5 amp...

About the Bosch 1250DEVS Random Orbit Sander The 1250DEVS multiple-purpose sander from Bosch has two sanding modes: random orbit mode for normal stock removal or fine finishing, and an aggressive "Turbo" drive eccentric orbit mode that operates at five times the regular rate, in order to remove...

interesting info on Rigid 2610 (german model)

Pictured is a Ridgid 2610 6 inch Random Orbital Sander (ROS). As with a large number of things nowadays, it isn't really made BY Ridgid, but is actually made in West Germany by Metabo. It is very nearly the same as their highly regarded Metabo SXE 450 Duo sander. The Metabo isn't easy to find in...

    removing yellow road paint?

My dad ran over some yellow road paint and luckily most is int he wheelwells were it can just be coated with some undercoating. There is some on some gray textured body cladding. I've tried paint thinner without much luck.

    Lexol leather conditioner...

I picked a bottle of the original liquid formula recently. I tried it on some fairly stiff leather auto seats. Surprisingly it softens leather quite well. It does leave a bit of an oily feel. I'm not really fond of the smell but it isn't offensive either. If you want a glossier look or leather...

    Prestone tire dressing...

I bought a bottle of this last year for 99 cents and never got around to using it. I tried it on the tires of a 4x4 since they are quite large. It applied evenly but felt greasy(I'm assuming it's solvent based). It soaked in fairly fast and left a semi-glossy matte type of finish. I sprayed...

    Rigid 2610,2611

has anyone actually purchased one and tried it for detailing. Any opinions? They have 1/8 and 1/4 inch orbits. How does that compare to the PC?

    cleaning wool pads...

I'm not sure how others clean their wools pads but after rinsing them a couple times with a hose and letting them drip dry I've changed my method. I mostly use ZPC and HTEC and mist the wool pad thoroughly with an ISO/water spray, I simply take a clean MF towel and work it over the face of the...

    EDGE wool pad review...

I stopped by the local paint supply store and picked up the Presta Edge green and yellow wool pads with velcro backing. I primed the green light cut pad with FP2 and tried a section. I found that combo didn't produce much cutting ability. I stepped up to ZPC and found that to be a nice product...

    detailing with paint...

One aspect of detailing a vehicle that is often overlooked is brake rotors. For those vehicles with rotors with large center sections rust often appears and is visible through the wheels. Using some rust converter (Autozone, Advanced etc.) will coat the rust and turn it into a hard coating...

Review: TW Platinum metal and billet polish...

I picked up a bottle for $3 at Big Lots(the Award Winning claim got the best of me). I don't have much use for metal polishes since my wheels are clearcoated but I figured it might work on my exhaust tips. I applied some to a cotton applicator and applied it by hand. Surprisingly it cleaned...

    FP2 micromarring?

I've been playing around with FP2 with both the Megs Tan finishing pad and the green german foam CMA CCS pad. I'm getting what looks like very fine circular micromarring. Are these pads too soft or am I just not working the product long enough? Any one else experience this?

    FP2 and pad combos...

Whenever I finish with FP2 I've been using a Megs tan finishing pad. Is that a good choice or would I be better off using a polishing pad like the Megs yellow or LC white?

    getting OHC to work...

After the other thread which some were having issues with OHC removing sanding marks I figured I'd share my results. I have the older OHC and also HTEC. On a foam pad I feel that HTEC works better. I was dealing with random 2000 grit sanding scratches that I could not get completely out by foam...

    HTEC on rotary....

I was using this to attempt to remove 2000 grit sanding scratches and was only having marginal results. I was working it at 1400 rpm. Today I tried it again and in desperation I cranked it up to about 2200 rpm on a green LC CCS pad. That's when it started to work well. That combo left a pretty...
