This person that owns a mercedes was telling me that you are not suppose to wax them... Is this true? Kind of sounds ridiculous to me!

So this happen to my trunk a few months ago, it is suppose to be black: I have tried to compound it, and than waxed it, and it went back to normal for awhile but than it came back. I do not know what to do to fix it. I need help! Any suggestions on what steps I can take to get it back...
