I want to apply some hard wax on my diamond black metalic BMW. Is it better do it by hand or machine, I have new polish machine with speed settings. What speed to use? How long to keep wax on car before removing?

One more question. I recently got a bird drop on my hood. I noticed it too late, unfortunately. It etched the clearcoat. I took very fine compound and gently polished it two times. Results are very good but in sun I can see a polish mark (like spot from sanding) on hood? How to get rid of that?
