Anyone machine wash their DAS pads?

I do, will it be ok? I wash them using the perm cycle with warm water and let it air dry. How do you guys like your DAS pads? I find them not cutting as much as i had hoped (even the orange one).

#81 applied, need a sealant (Wolfgang or Reflection)

Which one should I use? I really want to use Mothers Reflection and top it with S100 for a black Accord. However I know the Reflection has some cleaning agent in it so will it remove the #81? I haven't tried the Wolfgang (just got it) but I know that you need multiple layers for it to...

Is it me or Optimum suck?

Why? Why can't I remove those damn scratches on the 2004 Accord? I am using the orange DAS pad and spends 20mins on one tiny section (3' X 3') and the scratches are still there. However the spider web shape scratches are gone. Bug etching remains, unknown white dots remains. Ughhhh...

It all started at 9:30am on Wednesday

So I started detailing an Accord at 9:30am this morning. The last time when I detailed a car which was also my first time it took well over 25 hours, but it was all by hand plus breaks here and there. Well see how this one goes since I have a spanking new PC. (9:00am - 11:00am)...

My PC will be arriving shortly and I want to read more on how to polish using a PC. I've read most of the articles by popular sites suggested here. But i still have some question and like to learn about other ppl's technique. For example how do you polish something that's raised above the...

    How safe is engine detailing?

We are selling a 98 Dodge Avenger and it would be nice if we can clean up the engine before showing it to any potential buyers. However how risky is it to clean the engine? We don't want to end up with electrical problems just before we sell the car. I have never done any engine cleaning...

Buying a small compact car, what would you choose?

Dodge SX2.0? Pontiac Pursuit? Chevrolet Aveo? Chevrolet Colbalt? Chevrolet Optra? No Ford Focus. It must be domestic. So what would you choose? The #1 priority here is reliability. 2nd is cost. Please share info if you have any personal experience or know of any good reviews or surveys.

How abrasive is the Optimum polish?

I just ordered a PC and some Optimum polish to be used on a black car. This car is only 1 year old but has lots of scratches from washing. The color black makes everything worse and it's looking hazy. Do you guys think Optimum would be abrasive enough for the job? Also is this a wax ready...

What happened to 20% off Sonus products

At autopia-carcare.com it used to be 20% off all Sonus products. Does it still apply? Because when I entered the code Sonus it gave me a 15% off instead. Am I the only one or has the discount rate been adjusted.

Question about DAS pads and which one to use

I am getting a PC and I am planning on what pads to get. :woot2: So far i've picked out the DAS pad kit from autopia-carcare.com but I don't think that will be enough to get started. I need to fix a black car with swirls all over it (only 1 year old but looks terrible IMO). :hairpull I...

    Does this make sense?

#80 ---> #81 ---> Mothers Reflection??? Someone recommanded this process on here awhile ago and I went for it. But now come to think of it, doesn't the reflection has cleansing ability? Wouldn't it remove what the #81 did?

Buying my first PC, do pads really matter?

There are so many different ones. I know their cutting ability is different but how would I know which ones are the good? I saw some Sonus ones but seems pricy. What should I buy? I want to buy a kit because then I would have all my bases covered. I need it for mostly swirl/scratch...

I did finally detail my car 2 weeks ago but how do I keep it in top shape??? I know the wax will last me a few months. Does that mean all I need from now tilll then is just basic wash and dry? Or do I have to apply quick detailer each time after a wash? What's the proper way of maintaining...

    Bodywork and bumper repairs

What's a good forum for this kind of stuff? I have some damage on my bumper that I would like to fix myself instead of pay $200+ for the pro's to do it. I basically have scratch marks that are deep enough to see the bare plastic of the bumper and indentations. I want to cover it up as...

Help with #80 & bug etching

I tried removing all the bug etching with #80 by hand and it didn't work too well. Why??? Is it not abrasive enough or am I doing it wrong? I applied with Meguiar's terry cloth and keep rubbing it until it turned clear. Would scratchX help?
