I now have a rotary - and I LOVE it!!!

My Makita 9227 arrived Wednesday :bounce What a piece of kit!!! Tried it on GF's dog wagon (not washed in, ahem, several weeks) and used a panel which was damaged in a hit & run a while back - I figured that if I screwed up badly, it wasn't so bad as it's due a repaint. I initially tried...

BMW X5 - cut from my other post!

Next Bill's X5. Plan with this was for me to demonstrate the PC to Bill and John from here - I did half the car and they did the other between them (I can see no difference between "my" side and theirs so hats off to them both - good work lads) Process Wash with Sonax Extra Gloss No...

    Backing plate for Makita 9227

Just taken the plunge and ordered my Makita! I know from talking to BenP that he's getting a different backing plate but what have other UK people done? I'm assuming that any US plates will be 5/8" thread as opposed to M14 (which I assume the Makita thread is). Thanks gents :brit

    Ferrari 355

This was the second detail yesterday. 97 car with very deep swirls and chips to front end and mirrors. Process; Clayed using same clay as 360 detail Polished front end using (in order I tried!) SSR2, SSR2.5, DACP, IP on a variety of pads without much success - dealer was happy (very) but...

Have I found the limit of my PC??

Suspect this may be a "yes" as it basically struggled to remove swirls and scratches from the front of a Ferrari (black) yesterday, even using IP on a purple Meguiars pad. I've never found a defect that careful use of the PC couldn't shift so I was really disheartened, esp as my rotary skills...

    Ferrari 360

One of yesterday's details. Paint in pretty good shape apart from some stone chips to the front and light swirling. The dealer washes all his cars (using Meguiars products :2thumbs: ) so I didn't have to do this. Process; Clayed using Polyclay from www.erazer.co.uk (review coming)...

3 details from yesterday. Merc ML. I last detailed this car about 5 months ago and it's seen several long trips abroad since so plenty of grime and dead bugs to deal with. Owner soon to change to the new ML when launched. I've asked that he goes for a black or dark leather as cream leather...

    Zymol/Swissol

OK, I met 2 people yesterday, one a Zymol retailer and the other Swissol. Zymol guy didn't say much about the product/process BUT the Swissol chap was to put it mildly scathing about pretty much everything I use. I outlined my current product lines and preferences and his comment was "well...

    Menzerna revisited

I've not used IP/FP for over a year now as I felt that they were hard products to work with (by comparison to the SSR range in particular) but I pulled my garage queen into direct sunlight yesterday and  swirl city - I tried RMG/YCM to no avail so I stepped back and figured ***??? Then...
