Pics and Video from St. George, Utah Cars and Coffee

Some media from the C&C here in St. George that my company and a local exotic dealership host twice a month. St. George isn't a huge town so it's exciting to see the variety of cars and people that continue to come out each month. Hope you enjoy :wavey

Anyone else have REALLY runny M205?

I just got a new gallon of it and it is VERY "liquidy". Dramatically more runny than what it was before. If I put some on a pad and tilt it vertically, most of the product will literally run off of it onto the ground. New formula I don't know about? Anyone else see this? -Grant

My experience with Optimum Poli-Seal (pics and vid inside)

I write "experience" rather than review, because I feel that calling it a review implies that you're testing it against all the other products in it's segment, which I haven't. I remember seeing someone's write-up on Poli-Seal on Detailing Domain or one of those other sites, and was...

I've never REALLY introduced myself :)

I've been lurking around Autopia forever, as well as a few of the other resources, yet, I've never REALLY introduced myself to everyone. It wasn't until I went to SEMA this last week and REALLY got to see first hand just what an amazing COMMUNITY this industry really has. I left thinking...

Renu Auto: WetSanding Custom VW ShortBus

A project and a half! Was a ton of fun to be a part of though. I need to get a couple minutes together to type up my experience here with both hand-sanding and going through with dA sanding discs. Need to tell everyone about my process and get some good insight from Mike P. and others. What...

What's your favorite wax for visual depth?

What wax have you guys found to be your favorite? I'd like to try something new that weighs more towards visual "pop", gloss, depth, ect over protection/longevity. Something that will really wow the customer when they arrive to pick up their car. (Obviously excluding the...

My experience with Surbuf & the Kevin Brown Method.

M105, M205, some Surbuf Pads, Orange LC's on the old school Porter Cable (is there a big difference between the new/old?). I've had great results with it. No complaints yet :shrug <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie"...

    Wheel Repair: Nissan GTR

:wavey Challenging repair on a disgustingly good looking GTR. Such a cool car to work on. Loved it. Pics on the link below: <a href="http://renuauto.com/Renu_Automotive!/Nissan_GTR_Wheel_Repair_St._George_Auto_Detailing_Mobile_Wash_Detailer.html"> St. George Detailing Las Vegas...

Does Menzerna FMJ sealant have a shelf life?

I have some FMJ that has been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years. I have a car that I used it on after doing a full correction and noticed on my next wash that the water wasn't beading or sheeting, but almost sitting on the paint as if nothing was there. I was really disappointed...

Quick trip for a exterior detail and some a test panel

Made the 600 mile round trip the last weekend for an exterior detail on an E36 M3. Love these cars. Have owned two myself in the past. Also managed to snag a quick interior as well on another car while I was there. Then shot over to do a test panel for another M3 that we'll probably do...

    Little test video

Got the idea for a quick-wash video from Blake and NorthWestAutoSalon. Basically a 1-hour wash in 1.5 minutes. No real purpose other than something to throw on the website and a reason to update the Social Marketing pages with (i.e. FaceBook, ect) <object width="400"...

Leaked gas tank: How would you approach this?

A customer has a 32 Ford Roadster that is an awesome rod to say the least. Recently the gas tank sprung a leak so today I spent taking the ENTIRE interior out as well as the gas tank and trunk lining. After that was done I scrubbed all the floor boards down with a water/dawn mixture and some...

Afraid of my water tank freezing

Headin up to some colder climates this week. Wondering if there's anything I can throw in my water tank to ensure it won't freeze? It's a 35 gallon tank and I do most my washes via ONR now. Thanks! Grant

    Not your usual Write-Up

I tried to do something different here. A lot of detailers do AMAZING work and are generous enough to post up GREAT articles to other detailers documenting their process, pictures, the products/techniques they used, ect. With this Write-Up I wanted to create something that would educate...

Which pad/product combo do you suggest for the PC

What combo do you like best for corrections with the original PC? Would you go with the Meg's 105/205 combo on some lake country pads? Maybe some surburf pads? HD UNO? Obviously not one set is going to work in all situations, but I would like to discuss which is going to be the...

How do I avoid all the "lint" I'm getting from my micro fiber towels?

Or at least that's what I think it is? They're my drying towels. After the final wipe down, the towels seem to be leaving a ton of "fibers" back on the windows and mirrors. I'm using RightLook Fiber Wash to wash them as well. Any ideas what's going on?

Has anyone experienced these problems with EZ and Meg's wheel brush?

I've used the EZ Brush probably 30-40 times (haven't had long at all) and I've already had issues with the tip losing all of it's rubber coating, exposing metal, as well as the brush end of it actually breaking completely off :( I loved the brush before this happened too. Then I got the...
