Products and techniques for removing "road film"

Turtle Wax Max Power might be an option for some, its under $5 for a nice sized bottle at Walmart. Its a high PH cleaner that comes in a very thin liquid that is sprayable even at full concentration.

    2019 Best OTC Spray Wax/Sealant

What is your favorite OTC spray wax/sealant? I`m finding it hard to believe nothing is able to top DG Aquawax for me. This is a product that made its way to the market around 2006. For me it lasts longer than anything else in the segment, doesn`t attract dust/dirt, and looks really good...

Touchup paint, how to blend without edges/lines

I`ve had my fair share of touchup repair. I can get things pretty good with the help of Langka and patience, but I`ve been car shopping for the past couple of months and keep seeing touchup repairs that blow mine away. What has me super curious is how a few of them have zero lines or edges...

    Lug Nut Rust

How do you guys deal with rust on painted lug nuts? I`ve got some that are silver (maybe zinc) and starting to rust a bit. I was thinking about buying some of that zinc rustoleum paint but it seems to be a duller gray, ideally I`d like to find some more glossy silver spray with zinc.

https://www.businessinsider.com/why-you-should-spend-money-to-get-your-car-detailed-2018-8 "I`ve chosen the $100 figure because that`s a decent ballpark for proper detailing."

Slickest LSP, after the first wash

So lots of LSPs are super slick right after application. Is there anything that stays slick, like after a wash? I honestly can think of anything that I own that doesn`t drop off a cliff after it gets wet.

    Going Electric?

Figured I`d put a poll out there to see people`s thoughts on going electric. Seems China and a few European countries are going to mandate all new cars are electric moving forward. So the question is really are going excited to go electric, on the sidelines or going to keep your fossil fuel...

    McKee`s 37 Sio2 Paint Coating On A Mazda 3

Yeah, it is hard to beat the track record of Opticoat, it really does work and it lasts. The thing about McKees is you can see it, even in pictures.

Foaming, is it just all bubbles?

Figured I`d start a new thread on the topic as it has come up a few times in other thread. Please take this in the context of owning a pressure washer and using a foam canon on a paint that is maintained and protected with a good LSP. I know there are those that swear by foaming their car at...

RANT:My Love and Hate of German cars.

I really like the way German cars feel and drive, but every time I own one I swear I`m not buying another. I`ve owned several VWs, several Audis, a couple of BMWs and one MB.They are seriously such un-reliable garbage. Instead of upgrading/evolving designs, they start from scratch and make...

OTC Products, what`s new and worth checking out?

Is there anything moderately new in the OTC space that is worth checking out? It seems like there were a ton of new products every year for a while and the last 5 years has been quiet. I go into the auto parts store or walmart and see the same old stuff. Megs and Mothers seem to have a few...

    Trim trim trim!!!

Trim is an area most of us probably don`t spend enough time on (except Accumulator!). It is also arguably one of the things that shows a car`s true age, more so than neglected paint. Lets share some tips on getting trim to look its best? I like to use very shaggy microfiber when doing a...

    McKee`s 37 Paint Coating vs FK1000P

I have a couple of cars that are parked outside 24x7. I`m always on the lookout for something that can save some time. Its been a long time since I`ve done a coating. While the results I`ve had from Opticoat are indeed fantastic, the reality of it is I get similar results with FK1000P or OCW...

    Winter Cabinet Cleanout

Hey guys, cleaning things out, got a bunch of stuff to give away for free. You have to pick it up in Ashburn, VA, the whole lot, not just a few things, and no, I`m not shipping anything. This is your chance to save a bunch of stuff from the dumpster. All of it is in good condition, but has...

    Time to try another coating.....

Since Optimum has changed its product and policies, it has given me an excuse to try something else.    Things I liked about OC2.0: -Ease of application -Contaminant release, especially tar, I liked that I could go longer than a year without claying   Things I didn't like...

Underbody Care: Keeping it clean and rust free

So I picked up a new ride, Wrangler Unlimited. This being my 5th Wrangler, I'm no stranger to undercarriage rust. Seems like they just start rusting the day you drive them off the lot. The paint on the frame/axles/suspension bits makes Dutch Boy look expensive. I hate when my paint looks...

    Tire Dressing and differing results

So many of you know that I really love Mother's FX tire shine. Its been great on so many cars for me... until I got my new Wrangler with Goodyears. The first rain, and its GONE! I gave Hyperdressing a try, and it makes it past a few rains and the tires look great!. And it has been the least...
