There's a little MK IV MG Midget sitting for sale near me. If I could get the wife to approve and if I could get it for the right price I think it'd be a fun car to putter around in and with. It's got some rust showing. Without a repaint, what would you do with it?

For those of you who've been using Hyperpolish (or hyper compound for that matter), what pad choices have you found work best for given situations?
Here's my particulars for reference:
Cars: 2010 Lexus IS350C Ultrasonic Blue Mica
2007 Acura MDX Nimbus Gray
Machine: PC 7424

Well, had a bit of time and energy (rare to have both at the same time these days) and decided to go at the trunk lid of the Lexus. Got my PC, a 5.5 inch LC Tang, and OPT Hyperpolish and went to work. Clayed with ONR and Pinnacle Poly first.
Was thinking of doing Opticoat but...

Decided on a short break I had before I had to go back to work to wash my car. Took about fifteen minutes to go over my car. Didn't notice any marring and it took off the weeks worth of dust and rain on it. Wasn't horribly dirty but did have a good amount of road splatter on the lower panels...
Been reading a lot and saw and old thread similar to this. What would be your regimen for keeping your daily driver looking good for the longest time?
How often would you correct?
How much of a difference would lsp's/permanent coatings make?
How important would paint decon/claying be?
How...
First things first: since my back has been bothering me I don't have a lot of energy to devote to detailing my car and my wife's SUV so...
I started detailing my car for the big spring push last week. It is a 2010 Lexus IS350C in Ultrasonic Blue Mica. I've done the following...

Has anybody taken it up to test the medium-long term effects of the various waterless washes now available. I'm thinking specifically of long term marring, cleaning effect, and interaction with LSP's. I'm guessing you'd need to start with a pretty good surface to start with (which I one of the...
As some may know, I'm a Soldier (a US Army Chaplain to be exact). "Car Washes" are common ways that units raise money for their family programs. However, as a detailer (even one as bad as I am) I generally cringe when I see what they do to cars. Got me thinking, wouldn't it be great to teach...
Going to give my elderly PC a go this season for the spring detail and see how she goes. If I decide it's time for a change I'm thinking I like the look of the Cyclo. It's definitely unique in design. What are the pro's and con's of it versus say the Griot's unit?
TIA,
Tony
Was reading on the optimum forums that Opticoat leaves an non-slick, 'clear-coat' feeling (not sure I described that well but hopefully so). On that thread they recommend using Poli-seal to even it out and give it a slick feeling. I don't have any Poli-seal but I do have some Prima Amigo lying...
What do you use and why? Is there a difference in them? I've used Prima Glide, Prima Slick, Meg's QD, and ONR dilution and don't know that I've been able to tell a difference.
Ok, so it may not be totally (or at all) necessary to top OptiCoat with an LSP but if you're an autopian ya know you want to. So what have you tried? What did you think of the result? How long did it last?
Personally thinking about a couple of things when I do get opticoat on: Dodo Juice...
Got a few new products so I want to see how they all go together...
The target: 2010 Lexus IS350C Ultrasonic Blue Mica
Wheels:
Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner
Clay with Meg's blue and ONR lube
Tires:
P21s to clean
Optibond
Paint:
Wash with P21S TAW to strip any LSP
Iron X
Clay...
Got my Opticoat 2.0 box opened up last night. Had a cobra towel and a foam applicator in it. Thought about how 'permanent' the coating is and started to wonder about those two items. Can they be used again after I used them for applying the Opticoat? If so, how do I clean/care for them...
Just noticed this stuff on one of the detail stuff websites I order from. Not quite sure what to make of it. Seems to be an interior sealant that kills odor causing bacteria but I t'ain't sure. Any users? Anybody know what the heck it is?
When you pop the hood on my Lexus there's one thing you can't see - that would be the ENGINE. There is a cowl/cover that covers everything except the few fillers for engine fluids. I've cleaned it but haven't taken it off to detail the engine. Partly this is because the dealership totally me...
Asked this a while back but there's a lot of new products and techniques since I did.
For those of us who you rinseless or even waterless wash products and techniques, what is the best way to strip old LSP's off?
TIA,
Tony
