Does anyone have a recommenation for a car transport company??
I'm hoping someone on the forums has used one and ended up happy with the service and the way they (and the car) were treated??
Thanks!!!
Worked on my friends Lincoln Aviator today (black) and I really think I could have benefited from just one more step up the agression scale from the Megs 105 and LC orange pad I was using. That combo did knock down about 85% of the defects but there were some random scratches and what not I...
Anyone try this stuff?? Supposed to have bannana oil in it?????!!!!
Anyway, I was at my local Ardex dealer looking for some Collinite 845. They were out but he said that this Miami stuff was just as durable and last just as long as 845...Anyone have any experience with it??
FYI - I...
For you mobile detailing guys - what do you do with your foam pads after you are done using them - say for instance, when you do a pad change in the middle of a detail?
When I work in my garage, I usually just shoot some APC or Dawn Power Dissolver on them and throw them in a bucket of soapy...
A friend of mine just bought on '05 Aviator that has a blown tranny. He's going to replace the tranny and look to re-sell it. Wants me to polish out the paint and get it looking all "perty.."
Anyone have any experience with the paint on these vehicles in terms of hardness?? I'm wondering...
Just got a 200 Honda Civic for my Step-Son. It's not in bad shape but really needs some TLC.
Figured I'd do some work on the headlights today. First step of many of trying to get this car back into shape...

For those of you that use it, about how long do you leave it on the wheel before you start to agitate or power wash the wheel?
Thinking of trying it for my BMW 328 xi rims.
The ONLY thing product is truly effective for me - after about 2 weeks without a wash - is Meg's Wheel Brightener...
Was doing a search on headlight restoration this morning and a few posts mentioned an article written by Barry Theal on the subject.
- Anyone have that post bookmarked or saved & care to share the link?
- Or maybe Barry himself can help me out...
Thanks!!!
A friend of mine has a Pontiac with what is supposed to be a black interior. The dash, door panels, console etc etc are dark - but I wouldn't say they are a "true" black. The interior is not faded - it's just that's the way the color is from the factory. Sort of like a very dark grey, ash...
Seriously???????????????????????????????????????

Just put the Meguiar's forum app on my andorid phone. Man it's sweet - not that I frequent any other forums....was strictly checking it out for researching purposes :3:
Any plans for a similar app for Autopia??
How much do you guys think I would need to spend to get a DECENT pressure washer for car detailing related tasks (Foaming, wheels etc.)
Also, any suggestions on a reasonably priced reliable model?
Anyone use something like this for wheel cleaner?
I just bought three bottles of Autoglym wheel cleaner (non-acid based) and I'm thinking of consolidating them all into one bottle. This seems like it would be pretty handy.
Think it would work ok for wheel cleaning?
Are the...
Anyone know of a decent over the counter All in One - such as Optimum Poli Seal or Megs D151.
I wanted to do a quickie one step for a friend this weekend and found that my Poli Seal has virtually liquified for some reason!! I contacted Chris at Optimum to find out what might have happened...
Is there some one from Optimum on the forum that I can contact directly?
I have a question on one of their products and would like to send him a PM.
Thanks!
Dan
This brush looks like it might work for the limited clearance I have between my calipers and wheel barrels...but I haven't seen too many of you guys one.
So...there must a reason why...is it the tampico bristles? Sort of like a toilet brush huh??
Fast, effective spoke wheel...
I have to say, I really like this stuff.
Just used it on my '08 BMW wheels and it did a really nice job. It's not acid based, according to the specs on the bottle, and I'm thinking it should be fine for my regular weekly washes when I need something a little stronger than Meg's APC. Super...
Saw this post re; the dilution ratio of Woolite.
http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/129703-woolite-interior-plastic-vinyl-leatherette.html
Scottwax mentions Woolite HE at a 20:1 ratio for cleaning. Anyone ever seen this stuff?? I have looked everywhere! I don't...
Have "simulated" leather in my BMW. BMW calls it Leatherette.
Basically have 2 products in my arsenal I'm thinking would work in terms of protectant/dressing:
- Optimum Protectant Plus: which I would mainly use for vinyl
- Leather Master's Leather Vital: which I would mainly use for...
