Mothers Trim Cleaner vs Optimum Power Clean

There have been several good reviews on the Mothers Trim Cleaner already so this is really more than a demonstration comparison. Optimum Power Clean is my favorite all purpose cleaner and usually my go to product for cleaning trim prior to applying a trim dressing. I typically use UTTG but...

Quick Review: Chemical Guys VRP Dresssing

I had received a sample of CG VRP in trade so do not know if there is more than one version. The CG adds the words it super shine on labeling. Scent: No detectable intended scent. It smelled almost stale. This is odd for a CG product. Color/Consistency: White medium. Close to what many call...

    Most misunderstood aspect of chemistry

I have a question for Dr. G. On detailing forums, there are some that state they are chemists (or associated with them) and then plenty of some that think they are. We often try to make predictions on products by the MSDS sheets (for those product makers that willingly provide them) that may...

How do you prove you have stripped the LSP?

There are some soaps (several CG soaps that mention it specifically) say they strip LSP's. What test is the proof given that products can leave a surface beading or sheeting? When I notice an LSP degrading I see neither sheeting or beading but is that proof for a stripping soaps.

Poorboys Super Slick and Suds in foam cannon

I washed the truck and decided to use Poorboy's Super Slick and Suds in my Cam Spray foam cannon using an electric pressure washer (1400 psi / 2GPM). In the reservoir, I used 2 oz to 16 oz warm water with a little shaking. Result: The foam was decent with very good stickiness - a plus if you...

    Lake Country Detailing Sticks ?

Anyone use these? I am more interested in a dressing applicator. What I want to know is how far the wooden handle ends at the tip. I need something that will collapse about 1/4-in minimum. http://ep.yimg.com/ay/autopia/lake-country-detail-sticks-12-pack-6.jpg

I have some matte black wheels and noticed when I was first washing it that the wheels tended to want to spot (did not dry well) so I purchased Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer based upon some reviews by mjlinane on his matte experiences. The product is pricey ($24.99!) but it has a...

    First rinseless of the year!

I do not like doing rinseless during the colder months unless I can hose it down so the weather was very nice today so I did a rinseless after work. The gear: Mostly Duragloss wash mitts, waffle weave towels, Kwazar sprayer, ONR multi-purpose product. I like mitts over towels so I can control...

    Griot's Warranty

The wife had purchased a Griot's foam sprayer for me for Christmas about 3 years ago but last year I had noticed the trigger had been sticking - slow to return so would not cut off easily.
