Make sense to have both a Cyclo and a PC?

A recent thread prompted my interest in the Cyclo again. Not wanting the risks involved in learning to use a rotary, would it be worthwhile to own both a PC and a Cyclo? I've read up on the pros and cons of both, would just like additional opinions. Could one or the other make a more signifcant...

Car out of hibernation, immediate oil change?

Hi, I'm about to take my Caddy out of hibernation FINALLY, hasn't been driven since the week before Thanksgiving. Before putting it away for the winter I changed the oil and filter and added fresh. Should I immediately change the oil in it now or get the car up to operating temperature...

    Brush for undercarriage

I've been reading some posts on undercarriage detailing and realized I'm missing a good tool in my arsenal. I could use a good brush for cleaning my undercarriage. I'm assuming one with a telescoping handle would be ideal. I just need some help picking out the best kind. One I had in mind is...

    magnifier for use on paint?

I was reading some tips over on Autoint and saw the use of a lighted magnifier to inspect the paint :D They suggest Radio Shack, but I don't quite see the same one. I see a 60X one. http://www.radioshack.com/search.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&find=magnifier&SRC=1 Anyone use something like this? How do...

    Six Flags

Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ is beginning its spring/summer promotions again. I saw this commercial on TV; although theme parks aren’t my thing, it did perk me up momentarily from this cold weather we’ve been having. Take a look: http://www.sixflags.com

Is this technique valid any more?

One of the very first detailing tips I read way back was removing bird crap with seltzer water. As I recall, you could shake up a bottle and let the resulting pressurized water blast off the crap from your paint. For some reason or another I never tried this technique. Doesn't seem like this...

    Sealant on mufflers

I'd like to preserve the shine on my mufflers/exhaust so I thought about applying a sealant to them. Should I bother or would the heat just burn it off? If it will last a reasonable amount of time, how about SG?

Ah ha! So it is out

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/oxo-1050580.html Saw this Oxo duster last year in Professional Car Wash and Detailing magazine. They never sent me requested info on it. Guess there was a big delay releasing it. Any way ,glad to see its out and we'll see if it's a CCD replacement.

My final ?s about 1z polishes

I'm prepared to finally get the 1z polishes, my last questions about them is do they truly remove swirls and light scratches ( aren't the red and green cans lightly abrasive?) or do they just brighten the paint or in some way or another partially fill in whatever they can't remove? If this is...

    Mppc

Agh..the joys of owning a black car. I have a black Audi which I read has notoriously difficult paint to remove defects from. I noticed today in my garage to my horror a light scratch on my passenger door. Under flourscent lighting it looked much worse. After scolding myself for being careless...

Can there really just be a scratch in a layer of sealant?

I really wonder now if it is possible to get a scratch only in a layer of sealant. Here's what happened...(long) Today I noticed two EXTREMELY light scratches on my hood in two different spots, probably unnoticeable without my flourescent garage lighting. Paint is brillant black. Since...

    Anyone use this PRO product?

This seems like an interesting and promising product for protection against bugs/chips. I have never come across a product that claims protection against both. From the PRO website: S-10 BUG GUARDâ„¢ A clear, water base liquid that, once applied to the front of your vehicle, dries...

Can Aquapel be applied to the Diamondite Shield?

Blkz28conv's post today about the Diamondite Shield reminded me to ask something I've been wondering. Would applying Aquapel over the Diamondite Shield provided added water repellancy or would it just be a waste, or lead to bonding problems? I'm assuming the Diamondite might provided...
