PC with DACP and Megs Maroon Pad.

I have a question that could be very basic for most people. I hv just bought a rotary and want to remove some light swirls on red 2-pack paint, without resorting to compounds. My plan is: Step 1:Rotary + Megs Maroon cutting pad + Megs DACP. Step 2:Rotary + Megs Yellow Polishing pad +...

    DA Machine - unusual problem

Hi, I have just bought a FLEX Porter Cable DA machine (same as PC 7424), and was using it for the first time yesterday. The first 5 min, I was using Speed 2 with Megs Polishing Pad (yellow) + DACP. Then, switched to Speed 4. After a minute, there was a loud pop from the machine, and I saw a...

PC with DACP + Yellow Pad

Hi everyone, I relatively new to using the PC and need help with basic questions. If the surface has swirls caused by improper compounding, can the swirls be removed if I use PC properly with Meguiars DACP (Dual Action Cleaner Polish) using Meguiars yellow sponge pad (recommended for...

    Megs vs Zymol (ridiculous???)

Last night, I witnessed a comparison between Meguiars and Zymol products. This was done in a detailing centre that is also an authorised Zymol reseller. Car: BMW 530i with original black paint. Panel used: Entire was car was done in NXT + Megs No 26 after a lengthy surface prep. Paint...

    Review: Meguiar's: NXT Tech Wax

Overall, it's a very effective product that produces decent results. It's for the amateur who wants quick, fuss free results without spending too much time. If used correctly, NXT can be applied and buffed off easily. On silver or other light colours, NXT produces results that matches other...

Soft 99 Rain Hop - review

Hi everyone, Soft 99 products may not be available in the US but I just want to inform fellow Autopians that Soft 99 is one of the oldest and most established brands of car detailing products in Japan. Sort of Japan's version of Meguairs. Soft 99 is highly popular in Asia. I have been an...

    Stupid, Stupid mistake.

Last night, I made a really stupid, ridiculous mistake that I'm sure all Autopians would have a really good laugh. One of my car was already treated weekly to NXT for the past 3 weeks. Last night, I was thinking of freshening it up in preparation for a layer of S100 on top. I grabbed the NXT...

Advice needed - glossy, wet look tire shine

Dear all, What would you recommend if I am looking for a tire shine that gives a rich black, wet look? Extreme high gloss is critical to me. Durability is not, because I wash my tires every 3 days. Thanks.

Meg NXT - will it remove previous layers

Hi, I have applied 6 layers of Meg No7 Show Car Glaze and topped it up with S100. Fantastic results. However, I would like to experiment with Meg NXT now. Will NXT remove the No7 Glaze and S100?? If I proceed to use NXT, can anyone recommend a suitable topper? S100 perhaps?

NXT Spray Wax - used on wet car.

Has anyone used NXT's Spray Wax (the one with the pump spray) that claims to "boost" the shine, on a WET car surface? If Im not mistaken, the label says that it can be used while the car is wet (similar to Eagle One's product). Comments?

GLARE - anyone heard about them?

I have seen many advertisements on a brand of sealant called GLARE. It appears to be made in the US and is now available in many parts of the world. I have heard that GLARE products are only supplied to their authorised detailing centres around the world and not for sale to the the average...

    Review: Autoglym: Extra Gloss Protection

Autoglym EGP is meant to be the final step in your detailiung exercise. I find that it's very easy to apply, economical and gives great results. The liquid is similar to water and a little goes a long way. It has a bit of a kerosene scent though. Very easy to buff off if used as directed...

Review: Meguiar's: No. 7 Show Car Glaze

Excellent results on my German Glasurit 2-pack Ferarri Red. Remember to use a dry sponge applicator (not cloth) for optimum eveness, minimal amount and buff off immediately with a dry, soft terry towel or MF. Doesn't buff off easily but the results are well worth it. I do 4 layers and top it...

Meguiars Product Claims - outrageous sometimes

I have been a loyal Meguairs fan for a long time and have used their products on my immaculate Ferrari Red 2-pack paintwork. However, I noticed that Meguairs often use very strong words in their literature that has a tendency to over-promise. From my experience, I noticed 3 overhyped Meguiars...
