Inadvertant product test of DG 501

Been several months since my last wax job so it was time for a quick wax job. Did the whole wash, blow dry, clay, etc number. Foamed with CG citrus at stripping rate. Pulled out my products and decided to try the DG this time rather than the Menzerna FMJ to see which is more durable. I see all...

Looking for good, small cordless buffer.

Anyone have an idea about a small cordless buffer/polisher? Only going to be used on fogged headlights. The little Simoniz guy on on tv looks like it would work, but can't find it except with all the other junk that comes with it. Yes, I could use my pc with 4" pad, but looking for something...

    Consumer Reports tested scratch removers.

Interesting article. Seems most of the products they tested removed swirls, but Quixx took care of a scratch you could feel with your fingernail. Anyone ever tried Quixx?

    Diamondite for windshield polishing.

My windshield looks like it has been in a sand storm. Only noticeable if you are driving into the sun. I have cleaned it and it isn't dirt, over spray etc. Wondering if Diamondite would polish this out and how difficult it would be for the inexperienced. Hate to make it worse.

Why no DG 105 in the new catalog?

With my order, I received a catalog. No 105 is shown! Only 101 and 111. Does this mean 105 has been discontinued?

If you're looking for a soft mf waffle weave...

You definitely need to give the mf waffle weave from Excel a try. Absolutely the softest I've found. Baby blanket soft. Had a couple and just ordered 3 more.

Anyone experienced this pad cleaning problem?

I saw this warning on a site where I just purchased some LC CCS pads. WARNING: Never clean foam pads or soak foam pads in dishwashing soap (Dawn) or laundry detergents. These detergents will attack the glue that holds the Hook and Loop backing material. Soak pads in a car wash shampoo or use...

    Minimum amp rating for rotary?

Is there a minimum amp rating for an effective rotary? Lots out there starting at about 5 amps and in very light weight models.

106 FF not cutting it. What next?

What a bummer! Had the day set aside to remove swirls. Stripped the lsp off, dried, started buffing. Turned on the halogen, and swirls still there. Crap. Was using 106FF on 5" green LC CCS pad. Not touching the swirls. Tried Meguiars on the green LC. Wow, major marring. Switched to orange...

    CG Citrus wash killed NXT

Washed my daughter's car with my new CG Citrus Wash and it killed the beading of the wax. Noticed it imediately on the hood. No more beads, just sheeting. Kinda ticked me off cause I just waxed it a month ago and it was beading nicely before the wash. Used 1/2oz to 2 gal. of the wash. I...

What polish to use on single stage (lacquer paint)?

I have an original 1962 Corvette I want to polish and need suggestions on which polish to use. I have Menzerna 106FF and PO85RD. Which of these or which other polish should I use. Only thing I have put on it in the past is Meguiars 7.

LC pads vs Edge 2000 pads.

For those of you that have both types of pads, which do you prefer and why? Only experience I have with the PC is the Edge. Curious to know what differences you notice between them.

    Hello from MO

Been lurking for awhile trying to pick up knowledge on detailing. Good info here. Soon as weather permits I'm going to try my hand on my red 2003 G35 Coupe. Purchased a ton of stuff I can't wait to try, PC 7224, Edge 2000 pads, Menzerna 106FF, and Menzerna Full Metal Jacket Sealant, and Waynes...
