Regular waxing vs. polishing every couple of years.

Aside from perhaps price, what would be the cons of washing a car regularly, but neglecting to ever wax it, and instead getting it polished when the paint started to look dull, etc. (once every few years?)

Need to remove touch-up paint. Lacquer thinner, Langka Blob Eliminator, or?

The touch-up is about 3/4" long by 1/8" wide and has been dry for about 3-4 months now. I just tried some odorless mineral spirits and after 15 minutes the touch up still wasn't coming off at all with a Q-tip. After searching here it looks like the two most common things used are lacquer...

Light-gray colored scuff on black textured plastic bumper.

Any tips on how to remove (or at least hide) these safely?

How many MF drying towels do I need?

I've got a midsize SUV, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is similar in size to a Ford Explorer and Chevy Traverse. How many microfiber drying towels of what size would you say I'd need to dry the entire vehicle? I'm looking specifically at the Griot's waffle weave which is 25" x 35". Would two...

Should I trust the dealership detailer or take it to someone else?

Finally got my new car. Unfortunately, there are some marks and imperfections on it: a couple of scratches, a small chip, and what looks to be a "permanent" smooth smudge/scrape in/under? the clearcoat. The dealer said these are there because I told them to skip the detail, which would...

Drying questions. Distilled water, should I bother, and so on.

Hi all, 1) How necessary is drying a car after washing really, especially since it seems that most people don't dry their car after it rains. Doesn't rain typically leave water spots too? (I'm just trying to justify spending $20-25 on a good drying towel.) 2) Instead of using a...

So what happens if I don't clay bar and polish my brand new car?

It seems like clay barring is highly recommended here and elsewhere, especially for cars that aren't brand new. It seems like it's also recommended for brand new vehicles that just rolled off the delivery truck, but from what I can surmise it's not as necessary, although it's still recommended...

Can you recommend me the best all around non-synthetic carnauba waxes?

Hi all, I'm looking for a good all-around carnauba wax for my dark colored pearl coated daily driver. Pinnacle Souveran, P21s 100%, among others seem to be regarded highly here, however they apparently don't last longer than a month. I'm looking for something that'll last at least a little...
