In order to get rid of swirl marks/bad waterspots the guide says to use a medium polish. well dosnt polishing your car constantly eat away at your car's finish? or are there differnt stregths of polish that will take away swirl marks/waterspots without eating away at your finish

I heard vinegar takes out the waterspots on cars but wont it also ruin ur paint? i wanna do it but im kinda scared. also when u use vinegar do you use the full gallon of diluted vinegar or just dabs of the vinegar?
