car in question is a 2008 alpine white bmw 335xi, fairly clean but swirly from autowashes, some scuffing on beige interior.

Car will be a 2005 WRX STi w/ 16k miles and clean body, but minor scratches and what comes along with a not-as-pristinely-cared-for as I would do finish, engine bay cleaning would be nice too.

Had car wheeled out with wool pad / rubbing compound then
finished with a finishing pad & polish and a hand wax after that....
other day i washed the car with pretty hot water, all the swirls came back!
did i melt the polish/wax off and have to have it polished/waxed again?
car is a black 93 rx7
Looks like it happened when the painter wheeled it out with rubbing compound, in direct sunlight there's a haze of lines that distort the reflection of the paint, can this be corrected with a hand product?
