What I had to do today

I'm here!
Someone did this trying to polish this Alfa Romeo:

I had a hard time with this hood, glad I had bought some more abrasive stuff.

I had to do 4 passes with Presta Ultra Cutting Cream, with a Lake Country cutting foam and the rotary. Then I cleaned the haze left with the PC w/ Megs cutting foam and DACP and followed with Polishing Pad and 3M PI-III Machine Polish. Finishing Glaze and EX toped.

I think I removed about a trilion swirls and scratches, took me about two hours just for the hood.

This was the result:

You do good work I had a black BMW just like that not long ago. I used a light cut compound, rotary and 3M cutting waffle foam pad. Then Polish, swril remover, glaze and wax all with the PC. It came out looking great and no swrils at all to speak of. The rotary was the trick to get the heat to the clear coat.

Again Great Job!!

P.S. My grandfather is from the Azores I'm second generation US born.

Do you still speak Portuguese? ;)

The Presta compound I used is a heavy cut one, and I had to repeat 4 times! It was much worse than pics can tell.

No I don't my parents did not want us to, its really to bad. I think that may have been a American thing at the time ( the 50's )

The job you did was great, is there pretty good business there? Looks like you bring in some nice cars.

Hey, when the job my competition does is something like this car, then I'm ahead of competition.

There's no such thing as detailers here, either you have painters, to take care of paint or car wash shops, where you pay to get your car scratched and greased (on the interior).

I'm starting something new here.

Well you have the right idea. Do a better job or one that no one else is doing and you will do well. Based on what I see so far your miles ahead of them...Keep it up!

wow, great job. there's no better feeling than seeing a car head out looking far better than it did coming in. looks like you don't have any competition!

Wow...didn't know there was so many pork chops...LOL...I was born in Sao Miguel, Acores.... Nice job JGV....

I've seen that pic when you posted it, and well, another example of what I've been learning from you guys in the US.

Let's keep on the good work, me on this side, you on the other side of the Atlantic;)

One day and a half. I could only go faster if I cheated, but no, he is a chief Doctor, he's going to be good publicity to me.
