Who sells something that recreates the fragrance of a new car? I know I saw it here posted when I first came to the site, but can't find it now?

Thx.

Thanks....judging from the posts, maybe I'll look for a regular, nice car fragrance or leather fragrance. I have cloth seats but maybe I can still use something like that.

From what I have read in the past, new car smells are developed by companies. They choose which smell would be fitting for the vehicle and chemically put it into the car. Maybe if you could get a hold of that stuff you'd have the ultimate new car smell. :dunno

The posts here said that "smell" was actually NOT GOOD for the interior as it's chemicals....I'd be happy with some peppy, fruity, or leathery smell.

Just something "unique" that was safe for both me and the interior. It can even be one of those hanging Chrismas tree things.

Yeah, 'new car' smell is actually the adhesives that are used in putting the interior together. Not very 'healthy.'

That's BS. It's just that most companies use the same types of interior plastics. We're lucky the car can actually roll off the assembly line and run, let alone worry about what the inside smells like!

I talked with a chemist that worked for a company that made fragrances. He said that a new car smell is a fantacy scent. It is the smell of fresh paint and glue and new material, and it smells different to different people. I asked if he could make up a batch and he said no . He said that what smells like a new car to me would smell different to other people. He did give me a sample of popcorn scent , that realy smelled like popcoprn. I ask him what you would use it for, and he said they use it in theater lobbys , it makes people hungry.
