Got my Pinnacle Kit today. Am nervous!

Got my Pinnacle kit today from Autogeek and am nervous about the Advanced Swirl Remover. I rubbed some between my fingers and it is much grittier than anything I have used befor. I am planning on using it on my mothers badly swirled Metallic Red Seibring. Can I cause damage since it is so gritty? I will be using a PC. Also, what pad should I use? Cutting or Polishing?

Thanks

I noticed that it was very gritty as well. I tried working it for a few minutes inbetween my finger and thumb and it did not seem to break down all that much. I was moving it pretty vigorously. Let me know how it turns out. I am aching to use mine, but I just got my plans pushed back a little bit. Hopefully I may can squeeze it in this weekend, but I am not sure.

That pad in the pic is the same that Iam using. I do not see any problems with using this product. Its going to cut the top layer which is where the scratches are at. Then polish to smooth out the CC it will turn out great

Funny, I felt the "grit," but didn't think it was too bad. SSR2.5 has more mechanical abrasives in it(upon initial feel anyway). Once the friction of the PC and the pad on the paint go to work I am sure that it will break down just fine.

I got mine Wednesday and I think I am going to try it out this weekend.

Keep us posted Dalton!!!

I just recieved my kit today along with a lot of other products. I will be trying them out this weekend on a Z28. Oh yea it is red and full of swirls. Can't wait.

Pads

Looks as if they use polish pads with this product.

Use a polish pad, say a LC white or Megs yellow or Edge pad. With a little downward pressure, the abrasives will break down. Since most people will use a PC, they designed it just for that.

If the finish is THAT bad, you could start with an orange pad which is harder than a polish pad, but not as abrasive as a cutting pad. The orange pads feel a bit smoother and firmer in foam cell than a real cut pad which feels ruff when you feel the foam cells.

I'm sure it's safe and easy to use.

Ah-hem, Dalton, I owe you some pads:) Give me a call.

Thanks guys. Looks like my plan for this weekend has gone to sh*t anyway. My wife has us all booked up this weekend so it will have to wait til next weekend anyway.

The swirls are not really deep just plentiful. I think I might be able to get away with a polishing pad.

Dino, shoot me a PM or stop by the office if you can.

Thanks

I will post before and afters as soon as I get to it.
