2004 Honda Civic EX Question

2004 Civic EX magnesium
Hey, Pros, can any of you tell me about the paint jobs on a 2004 Honda Civic EX Magnesium Metallic - single or double stage, clearcoat amount, etc?

I can't find it from the Honda folks. If you don't know about this particular Honda and color, the closest model year and color you have will suffice.

Double stage and clear coat seems to be on the thinner side but not so thin you have to worry about going through it easy. Rocks chip the paint very easy.

Are you saying the 2004's have double-stage and clearcoats (I'm pretty sure about the clearcoat, at least my brother's Accord from the same place supposedly has it)?

If double-stage + clearcoat is "thin" what constitutes a GOOD, THICK paint job then? And which cars have it -- just curious. More expensive sports cars?

Two stage paint, as far as I know, is a base coat clear coat, which most newer cars have.

The paint chips easy, as far as what I have seen from rock chips and whatnots, and from some body guys I have talked to they say that the Honda paint is not thick.

That's what I hear too....which cars if any do you hear have extra-thick paint jobs? Corvettes? Porsches? BMW's?

I am going to prep mine for the winter with AIO + at least 2 coats of SG or PB-EX.
