Help with carpet stains

Well this is basically just normal everyday dirt, but I have reached the limit of my knowledge to get it out. I went and rented a warm-water (no internal heater, just the warm water from the tap) extractor, and tried to get this stuff out.

The next two pictures are a before and after respectively.

Obviously the after looks improved by far, but you can still see where the extractor did nothing more than move the dirt around. This is highly irritating (thing was expensive to rent), any ideas?

That looks like more than just normal everyday dirt.
Did you track some tar or grease on the mats?
Meguiar's APC+ does a pretty good job on some pretty bad stains, but I don't know if it will get those.
If it were mine, I would try the APC+ and if that didn't do it, I would try some bug & tar remover on a piece of terry cloth and just dab directly on the stain to see if it lifts it. It really looks like you don't have much to lose by trying something a little stronger. You will probably replace the mats, otherwise.
Good luck.

I am considering going out and using some Simple Green APC, what kind of dilution ratio should I use?
Simple Green seemed to me to be pretty strong stuff. Anytime I used it, I diluted it to 50% water, 50% SG.

Charles is right, that has to be oil/grease. Go with the 50/50 mix, & do some scrubbing (medium to stiff brush) then rinse well with the hose before using the extractor.
