The Whaler Loves Detail City
How can one tell if there's a bonding issue and what's the worst that can happen if one product doesn't bond with another? I'm guessing start over with something else. I've put UPP(x3) on top of VM and 4 weeks later it is still beading like crazy. The same for EX-P over VM. I certainly see no difference in durabilty with the UPP over VM vs. UPP over AIO.

I think if a product does not bond then:
... Hazing, streaking, dullness shows up on the finish
... Water does not bead (or whatever it is supposed to do)
I also think that sometimes we worry too much about bonding!

Hey Chee don't be messin' with The Whaler!J/K. I too think the bonding issue has caused a fair amount of paranoia among the members. I think most of the people on here can't/don't leave their cars alone long enough to see if there is a bonding problem.:lmfao

I've had no bonding issues with my truck. From day one the truck and I have, I think, bonded quite nicely.

Rick,

If I can think of a way to invent a "Bonding Meter", I'm going to be a rich man! :D

Anyhow, a question on your "beading".................. do you use a QD frequently, and if so, which one?

I have six different QD's and the only one I have used so far was Mother's Showtime and that was for clay lube. I have no good reason why I don't use a QD. It seems like everytime I get a chance to wash my car I'm slapping on UPP or EX-P. This week I'm hoping for one more coat of EX-P then Souveran on mine and another coat of UPP then Paste Glaz on my wife's.
