S&W and tree sap?

My van was parked in an area where it picked up a few spots of tree sap. I didn't notice it until I cleaned the van up a day or two later. This particular cleaning was with Poorboy's S&W and when I noticed the tree sap, I just applied some S&W on a corner of a towel and soaked the sap spot. The S&W seemed to take the sap spot off with no problem.
I have had the same experience with some of the small tar dots I sometimes find. S&W seems to remove those, too, (with a soak job), and I don't feel the need to rewax the area like I do if I use something stronger.
Anyone else have this experience?

Yep, I find that S & W (or BSR) will remove just about anything............... provided it's caught quickly enough! However, there are some types of sap that seem to require a chisel to remove if left on the paint surface for any period of time.

As for the rewaxing............... I'm also comfortable with the fact that the S & W will remove little, if any wax/sealant.

Back in the mid 80's, my daughter looked at a used car with tree sap spots on it. She offered to buy it if they removed the tree sap spots first. Three weeks and two different detail shops later, the spots were still there. You could not budge them with your fingernail. The car had been parked under the same trees for two years and they were really baked on.
