im in the process of designing a flyer, and i want to use some drastic before/after pictures, but the few I have of work that ive actually done wouldnt turn out on a printed/copied color flyer.

What im asking for is for permission from somebody with some nice before/afters for me to use some of their pics on a flyer I design.

If needed, in return, i could show you my end result and if you were pleased I could design a flyer for you as well.

Thanks:)

Hi 2dr'

I could give you some, but my 'after' pictures look like everyone else's 'before' pictures. Probably not much use to you.

All the best in your biz'

freedre...couldnt find any of your pics...thanks though

jngrbrdmn...nice website...i just might have to use that red truck. What did you use on it? AIO maybe?

Anybody else? I know there A LOT of people with some great pics.

Yup... AIO it is. Perhaps you missed the "Behold! The Power of AIO" thread. I think I posted it here. I know its over on Autopia. That is straight up AIO and nothing else. No DACP or anything. AIO and a red Meguiar's pad on a PC did that. Pretty cool, eh? :D

On a side note... I am not really comfortable having my work displayed on another brochure to advertise their work. If you are looking for examples of before/after to show them what you did, then you might want to try and grab another nasty car to demonstrate on. Showing nice cars that you didn't detail on a brochure is fine, but showing examples of before/after work is a little off.

One of the main reasons I built OCDetails was so I could put the URL on my business card and people could see a lot more of the before/after work that I have done. It just doesn't have the same impact on a brochure as when you can have several pages with price lists and pictures. There are some cool sites out there that show off their work. I know you said that you don't have before/after pictures of your own work, but it might be something you want to consider doing again before showcasing it on your broschure. I wouldn't like to have my work showcased by a different detailer so that his customers think my work is his. You know what I'm sayin? I don't mind if you use my pictures, but I'd like credit for the work if you use them on any advertisments or brochures. Just a little www.ocdetails.com or something at the bottom would suit me fine. If you wanted to join the OCDetails network then it would be even better. You could showcase all kinds of your work on there if you wanted. Then you could just throw down a URL on your card as well.

This might help its a 91 Trooper single stage paint. I used med cut compound with a cutting pad on a rotary, polish with a cutting pad, paste wax to finsh

alright...some more respsonses.

Bigron...thanks, those pictures coudl definatly come in handy.

jngrbrdmn....thanks, ill have to check out that thread. As for the before/after issue....thats cool if you dont want me to use your pics, thats why i made a post asking people, i didnt want to steal anybodys stuff. Its not like im an unexperienced detailer whos using pro pics and calling them his own. I obviously wouldnt use before/after pics of cleandean's wetsanding and rotary work, because i cant wetsand or use a rotary. However if someone were to give me some pics of really good PC work then id use it because ive finally mastered my PC. See what I mean?

Beemerboy...definatly nice work. But just like my pics, i dont think it would show up too well on a flyer. The 2 finishes would look to similar to be able to tell that you removed all that oxidation. Thats why making this flyer is so hard.

That depends on the quality of the paper that you are using. This is about the best example that I have seen. Most all before and after pics show very little difference.

yea...i guess your right:)

I'm going to have to suggest that you do your own pictures for your own flyer. I don't want Detail City to be a place for this kind of thing. I just find it a little wrong to use someone else's pictures to demonstrate how well you know how to do things. Find a really torn up car and then get some better before/after pictures and use those. I think ethically it is beneath a DC member to use someone else's work on their brochure. Its a tough call, but I am going to close this thread now.
